I swear I've seen an ad for a carrier offering a tiered rate for owner operators paying 89 cents on trip miles over 1000.
Saw a truck today offering $1.05 a miles for owner operators. I'm still laughing

Most of the time they also have a fuel surcharge.

White Volvos, they live in half a million houses and travel home in BMWs. How can they manage that on 1 dol per mile?

Only one post. You know what. -
Be careful. They deleted my photo of a white Volvo from Chicago, accusing me of "trying to hijack yet another thread."

Most of these companies paying by the mile pay for a lot of truck expenses that guys on percentage pay themselves. For instance, I was running for percentage and my costs were $1.48 a mile. I ran for mileage for a short time and my costs dropped to $.66 a mile and I was running for $1.33 for all miles. I made money but I wouldn't want to do it long term.
shooter19802003, slow.rider, blairandgretchen and 1 other person Thank this.
