I filled out an application for a promising tanker position with Schneider and called recruting on the 7th of November. I spoke with the recruiter and verified my information. I told her that I would be ready at the beginning of this month, so she told me that she would call me during the final week of november to see if I was still interested before setting up orientation for December 3rd.

Thinking that I would likely be starting orientation on December 3rd, I put in notice with my current employer for Friday the 30th which was yesterday.

By Wednesday of this week, I hadn't yet received a call, so I call the recruiter a couple of times in the morning and afternoon getting no answer. Someone from the main recruiting line told me that she was speaking with another recruit. I later tried her line and left a message.

    Never got a call back.

The next day (Thursday), I call a couple of times and finally get to speak with her.
She asks if I am ready, then tells me that I am registered for orientation in houston this Monday and that I should receive the ticket for the flight and other relevant information within 24-48 hours which would be today.

By 13:00 today, it had been 48 hours and I still had not received any information whatsoever so I try to call the recruiter. A couple of calls go straight to voicemail,
So I call the main recruiting line and explain the situation. This person tells me that there is no information on me beyond the phone call on the 7th and that my recruiter would be in at 1400. So far multiple calls gone straight to voicemail.

So, I'm left with the impression that my recruiter lied to me and did absolutely nothing, while I'm left believing that everything is all set up and ready to go.

Not only has my time been wasted. My next week is in limbo since I have quit my job as of Friday and I likely won't get to speak to recruiters from other companies until monday.

    I am not pleased.

Tell your current company you didn’t mean it and you aren’t leaving.

I would have been willing to forgive all of the stuff that a lot of drivers complain that their recruiters lie to them about, but If they are going to waste my time like that, they don't deserve any more of it.

I could, and they would certainly have me back. However, it seems like bad form to as for my job back only to leave a week or 2 later, or however long it takes to set up orientation for another company.

I really wanted to do tanker, but the other companies that I've found that service the area that I live are either not hiring, or require more experiance than I have.
