So I know leasing a truck is stupid I'm not new but from what I read Schneider choice can be a good program and picky my own loads just turns me on. Realistically speaking would Schneider be better if I just went company vs becoming and ic? Money wise. I know tankers there seem to do good. I'd probably do dry van tho. Because I guess the tanker program is hard to get into and I'm just a screwup idiot.

If you are a screw up idiot then you really don't want to get into the lease game.

The choice board is not what is used to be.
With a lease truck you'll be lucky to clear a company driver wage and that's after you learn the board and Schneider lanes witch can take months. Schneider is literally putting nothing be crumbs on the board. Yes I'm a contractor and looking for an escape that fits my needs.
If you want to read about the rise and demise of the program go to the
    Picking My own freight thread.
You are far better off being a company driver anywhere.

If you wanna learn how to self dispatch that's about all this program is good for any more for the most part... Learn the freight lanes and then make a jump to someplace else that's got only owner operators...

Drivingotr4life and Steel Dragon Thank this.

You need 6 months company before you can go choice.
Unless your bringing a truck from somewhere else.
Loads pay about $1.30 a mile.
Check out the other trucker james best.
He ran a sfi truck for a few months, now bought his own truck.
Lots of good info and numbers.
Great guy..could use some more subs to his channel...:biggrin_25525:
