No what's happening is they lose it for a second cause they are checking to see if you have your ####### PANTIES ON.

I'm not suppose to go over 59. My cruise tops at 59, truck will go to 65 with pedal. I get passed by EVERYBODY. It just piss poor drivers that are lazy and can't hold their lane. If I were you, I'd do what you do, and keep driving defensively, or one of those clowns will most certainly hit you.

In my seldom humble opinion, lane integrity (staying centered in your lane) under any and all road conditions is the mark of a professional driver. It takes practice to get good at it and focus to always be on top of it.

A problem many drivers have passing another truck, especially an aero truck, is dealing with the bubble of disturbed air coming off the sides of the hood. They steer into it when it pushes their truck over and don't counter-steer back to the left as the push lets up a couple of yards later. By the time their tandems are up to your door they're over into your lane.

Having a train horn helps get their attention. That said, some drivers are straight up antisocial douchbags and are just having their version of fun.

The secret code is when being passed it is the passee's job to touch the brakes and slow down for the bully aggressive passer. They are letting you know they are the big bully billy bigrigger princess truck driver who deserves to be in front you you and you will be required to slow down for their princess right of way.

Yeah I posted a few videos of princess bully aggressive billy bigrigger passers doing all sorts of illegal things caught on camera, crossing double yellow zones and deep into a merge lane forcing me to take emergency braking action. A lot of the truckers on here jumped down my back for not slowing down because wasn't it obvious that going the speed limit or a mile or two below the speed limit was causing these illegal passers to go apespit?

But yeah, that's what it is, if you're not going 3-5 miles over the speed limit, and someone wants to pass you, your J.O.B. is to slow down for them SMH, because the speed limit is for LOOOOOOOSERS who drank wayyyy too much Safety Koolaid lol

I agree that most lane drift while passing is due to air push, especially if you are passing in a hard broadside wind from the passenger side. You have to anticipate the turbulence as you approach the back of the trailer, then the "suck" of the void broadside to the trailer, then a quick combination of push and pull as you come even and pass.

Another common problem drivers have is steering toward the direction you are looking. They look in the passenger side mirror to see if they have cleared you and automatically steer in the direction they look. It's a difficult thing to overcome. I use my hood globe mirror as a reference point. I can glance at it without turning my head. I have it adjusted so that when the vehicle I am passing disappears from that mirror I am clear. THEN I wait a little bit before looking in the passenger side mirror to confirm I have plenty of space before easing on over. At all times I try to stay close to the fog line. Too many folks out there have serious cases of YDS (Yankee Doodle Steering).

You are correct, sir. That's the sign of the rookie.

Ever notice that when 4 wheelers pass you, they swerve towards the center of your trailer. They realize this, and snatch the wheel left. When they get their CLD, they still do the same thing. The wiggle that the trailer does is called the Rookie Wiggle.

I still do that sometimes. But it's usually because some mayo from my sandwich dripped on to my shirt...

I thought as they looked in the right mirror their hand on the steering wheel went to the right.
I'm in a super slow truck and they do it all day.

This makes sense, but you can tell if you're drifting when you're looking in the mirror as well.

I'd hate to see those drivers try to stay in their lane on the Goethals or Tappan Zee bridges.

I'm in a governed truck and see this too. What I don't get is the occasional super trucker who then flips me off with their left blinker after passing me.
