Nope. A very very small percentage , if that.
cke, Opendeckin, PPLC and 2 others Thank this. -
No, the first major wreck they're involved in will take care of that problem. And yes they WILL be involved and blamed for some major wreck and some lawyer will sue everybody who even looked at the programming in the thing.
PPLC, nitetride379x and The_vett Thank this. -
10 years before there will be a major impact, but when it comes, it’ll come REALLY fast.
Opendeckin, Mr Uturn, 77fib77 and 2 others Thank this. -

No. And even if we ever see the day they become semi-common, there will always be a need for good drivers. I’d like to see a driverless rig load a piece of equipment and chain it down

I think it depends on where you live. I see them a lot in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. It makes sense for those states, and it'll make sense in wide open states when there's good weather. For self driving trucks to dominate the interstate, they'd have to change the whole infrastructure. That may eventually happen but I doubt any of us will be around to see that.
nitetride379x, Magoo1968 and The_vett Thank this. -
If they can barely make a def fuel level sensor reliable I have my doubts on the 100’s of sensors needed to make self driving truck’s mainstream..
