I think I sent it once when I first started years ago . What the safety pukes don't consider is that backing into a spot should be one continuous , fluid operation from setup to done . Stopping to GOAL then sending a QC message then backing is inviting trouble . There are exceptions of course where its imperative to get out sometimes multiple times but that's not every time .

Blowing your horn repeatedly in a truck stop at night is also a really bad idea .

I just sent one every night before I logged sleeper birth.
How are they gonna know if you actually backed or not? And it keeps the management off your ###.

My term never says a word about it, it seems like a fad when you used to have to show your CDL and Med card to pk up a tcall, but that came and went also.

I do sometimes send in a "GOOFS" msg. "Got Out Of Front Seat" Honestly I really used to, all the time. My other favorite is, "GOTS" Got Out of Truck Stop.

    lots of fun,

Every once in a while I would send them, but not all that much. You can be audited for it and if it shows up that you do send the messages, it makes you look good in the eyes of the company and decreases your RA (risk analysis) score. In reality, it's the dumbest thing I've ever come across. All it does is waste time and the time of others. I've never had a backing accident either. If it's close, I will be going out of the truck and I don't need to send a message to prove it. All of the procedures are have one intent and that is to transfer all of the blame onto the driver. You are the captain of your own ship, so act like it.
