Word to the wise, if your traveling through Chicago suburbs make sure everything is legit. Apparently they don't have enough shooting, stabbing, hijacking, and robberies going on these days that the local PD is looking to make a quick buck off the big truck.
I knew getting my Peterbilt washed driving through Illinois with out of state plates was a bad idea.
Officer even has the measuring wheel out. I got something between my legs he could measure but gonna need a bigger stick. What a scam!!!
He pulls me over claiming 4th axle tire was bulging. Then wants me to produce scale ticket from shipper.

Not just Chicagoland. They’re busting all the trucks in NJ too. Got dinged for left lane myself when I moved over to the left for a very short while so the truck in the right can move to the middle cause there was a state trooper giving a box truck a citation. Immediately when I moved over there was one in the left shoulder… Next time I’ll just let them blow their hats off

Where I used to live, many of the cops were trained to pull over trucks for inspection, however it was the township policy that if they were caught speeding or driving carelessly, any cop within the township will pull them over and ticket them. It was fought in court by some who were ticketed with the excuse that they were not certified so they could not pull the truck over, the judge told the drivers they are there to up hold the laws and can pull any vehicle over to do just that - enforce the laws.Siinman, Rideandrepair, wis bang and 2 others Thank this.
