I appreciate your grit, been there many times with shippers/receivers, but Farmer did have a good point.....although offensive. Just curious.....did you ask them how long it would take to get loaded, a lounge to stay warm, or did you just shut them down and walk off. It never serves either party to have a one side being inflexible. But then again......i am one of those give and take guys.

Thats right, drivers like to sleep or whatever in there trucks while being unloaded. But some of these outfits to lazy to put a lock on the airline and instead just put it on the driver by takeing keys. Who wants to drive all night and then have to haing out in some dingy driver lounge for 4 hours.

I carry a spare key for occasions like that. No, it isn't even to my truck...it's an old one from a car I used to own. I did get a wierd look one time, "I didn't know SAAB made trucks *shrug*". Even still, I'm not giving anyone anywhere a key to my truck. I don't care what your corporate policy is. Shippers with this policy get annotated in my little book, and avoided. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Saw a couple interesting videos on the you tube about homemade heaters. Take a couple different sized clay planting pots, nest them together and run a bolt, washers and nut thru the hole to secure them together. Invert pots and set on some bricks and put a candle under pots. The pots get very hot and radiat heat like a fireplace hearth.

What a dumb post. Anyhow, I was confused as to the +30 also. I don't idle at night unless it's around zero, so not sure how someone would freeze at +30, but who knows. I'm not a big fan of giving up my keys either, so I have several sets. I've never had anybody demand my keys when it's extremely cold. (zero or below)
