I have read posts on the Internet stating that some companies have donated free shipping containers to organizations, causes, and sometimes even private citizens. About one mile north of the Pilot truck stop at exit 92 I-64 southern Indiana we are planning on building a zero carbon footprint home called and Earthship. The overall goal is to turn 16 acres of land into a campground for people to camp out and learn about off grid sustainable living. We envision an area where people can physically join in and get hands on experience building an Earthship. We are not for profit.

We are currently looking for a shipping container(s) to store materials until we can begin construction. So, a question was raised: "What would be the easiest and quickest way to find a company that would be willing to donate a shipping container?" my reply was "We'll ask the truckers..."

Any guidance on how we could find a company that would donate a shipping container would be deeply appreciated.

    Thanks!!
