I was in a fender bender in my car that was my fault and it is still on my record until may 2017. I was thinking about trucking school but was afraid no one would hire me afterwards without a clean driving record. The accident was a normal car accident not a trucking accident. Never had a moving violation or ticket other than parking tickets.
Would it be better for me to wait until a date nearer to the lifting of the accident from my record?
Should I bother going to trucking school if I have an accident on my drivers license?

I think as a stand alone accident, with no other violations- or, wait. Did you get a ticket for the accident?
TN_Trucker75 Thanks this. -
There are plenty of folks who go to driving school with felonies on their records...graduate, and are hired on by certain companies. 1 accident may limit your choices, but certainly won't leave you out of options. @Chinatown will be able to help you more than I. I'm an O/O and don't keep up with company recruiting policies.

If it was a rear end fender bender then that could be an issue with some companies.

First I'd like to say:
Second, you need to call some companies you are interested in and ask. I just had to do this for a ticket I forgot about (does not show on abstract) that I got on base.
For the company I am interested in, no speeding tickets for 15 or more over, and no more than three (moving) tickets in five years.
So call and check.
