New dad here. I know that this job is tough. I expect to be away from home and missing a lot of important moments. I see post saying 1 day home for every week out. But is it unreasonable to expect 2 days home time a week? I don't mind the more physically demanding jobs. Im open to anything as long as i can get home time.

Im planning on going to tennessee truck driving school. I've seen the reviews here and couldnt find any negatives about them.

You'll find options for home time of that sort with flatbed companies or regional jobs.
TMC will get you home most weekends and depending on the load you're under you could have 2 full days off or just 34 hours. Just depends on the situation from what I hear from their drivers.
Maverick is another good one to try for weekends off.

BlackThought and Bob Dobalina Thank this.

Also try Burkhart Enterprises on 2435 Asbury Rd, Knoxville and Milan Express.
Check Burkhart website. Probably be best to go there for a face to face and ask for a job. They pull flatbed, dump trailers, and Pneumatic Tankers. Their road trucks are Mack sleeper units.

Many companies are hiring new cdl grads these days and bending their rules on "experience required" for high quality applicants.

If you don't mind physically demanding positions, check out any foodservice company in your area. Many will hire/train recent CDL grads and some of them will get you home every day once you're hired. Just be prepared for a paid daily workout. :)

Food service. It's work, but it's decent money, and you can get to the house at a decent hour. Start early, end early.
