Got 6 months experience and a good driving record? Apply at Crete. Best company I’ve ever worked for hands down. Don’t ever work for western express. The most disorganized, disconnected from the reality the drivers face, bottom feeding company, hassle you for every single repair, who never get you home and then adding insult to injury pay you on a sliding scale. I had to run 3200 miles there to make what I do at Crete at 2500 miles. Not to mentions it’s a much more respectable place to work. And no, I’m not giving my driver code for a bonus. You’ll be better off at Crete.

I can’t put a statistical number on d & h. It depends on the customers. A lot are d & h, but some times you might have live load front and back on a few loads. So, I don’t know how to quantify that one. Live unloads are usually under two hours with a good bit windowed, unless you bring dry freight to a grocer, then you know what happens then. Lol. To put that in perspective, yesterday I delivered in WI. I had only had maybe 14 pallets. Happy older guy says yeah I can unload you early its Friday. I spent 20 min there. On the flip side, I delivered to Anderson Debose in NY last week. Took them 4 hours and they damaged product and didn’t even tell me as I was handed the papers.

    "I've got one month experience".

    ONE MONTH.
    You can't write this stuff.
    Man, I needed that laugh.

OP... the good news is that the crappy weather in Wyo will be easing off here in about another month, or so. Then you'll have until October to race for the next wave of hell on 80.

That's why i80 WYO is a twisted mangled mess.
It's the deadliest place in the lower 48 to be in the winter, and THAT is where CRE and the he other starters keep their Newbs.

That's the LAST place they should be. SHEEESH

If Western Express is anything like it was when I first started, then it's not as bad as people make it out to be. I went to the flatbed division. They paid low cpm but lots of miles were there for the taking. They seldom got me home. You can make money if you're willing to run, and can prove that. That being said, you have one month experience. You need to pick somewhere and stay there. The first year isn't going to be your highest paying year by a longshot. Worry about honing your skills first, then get your payday. Every starter company pays low because of high insurance for new drivers and lack of experience. You're in New York, once you get some experience, even if you get 9 months, that's still good. If you can make one year, that's even better. The whole industry will open up to you then

Submit some applications online, off the trucking companies websites, before calling. All these I list run ads for new cdl school grads.
After submitting the online applications, call and ask " I'm checking on my job application."
