So I'm applying at a larger company that I really am impressed by. Like their values, like their trucks, blah blah blah. I'm in school now set to graduate next week. I'm filling out the application when it asks me if I've had a spinal injury. Well, yeah. Pretty serious one from my previous career in roofing. Now I busted my ### with rehabilitation, got back to work but just couldn't do the day in, day out of roofing anymore. Hence the career change. I explained this to everyone along the way, no real pushback. But now that I'm looking at this application, and after talking to my recruiter who's says they really don't like back injuries, what the hell do I do? Should I lie? Should I be truthful and potentially lose out? I know I could work circles around many of these fat dudes but they don't care about that. If somebody with a similar situation (fat chance) could help me out, Id give ya a big wet kiss. Thanks
Should I lie about an injury?

I know roofing is hard work me ex man was a roofer.Has your doctor limit you to certain kind of work?I don't think its wise to lie because if they find out you will get fired.Just be honest and have some answers when the recruiter ask you questions about your injury.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -

I wouldn't list it, BUT....if they do some investigating, it might pop up. I say this cause, I'm sure you went to the Dr., and received treatment, that stays in your medical history. Can you say Social Security number? That's how insurance companies do some background checks.

I technically have a bad back too, I wouldn't list it.
You'll be driving a truck, not bench pressing itRusty Trawler, Middleagedrookie, bzinger and 2 others Thank this. -
Pretty sure you medical history is confidential, meaning none of your company's business.
Middleagedrookie, ExOTR and MR-B-22 Thank this. -
Just my 2 cents, but I would always be truthful. It's always harder to keep up a lie then to just tell the truth. If you lie on the app and somehow down the road they find out they could fire you.
If it's meant to be it will work out, good luck on your decision.TROOPER to TRUCKER, MR-B-22 and Diesel Dave Thank this.
