@Ezrider_48501 has one on his 359 I think. His box is mounted on the driver's side behind the pump. The one I had was on the floor behind the driver's seat. You could here it click when it adjusted the throttle. You could set high idle with it as well and do away with the hand throttle.
Should i sell my brand new 389

I’m betting you don’t know what a govnor is. Google ithaycarter, Pamela1990 and Oxbow Thank this. -
The original argument or comment was it was governed at a certain speed. Which you can't do with mechanicals. Why? Because the way they are governed, like you said. So you cut the fuel back...OK. the truck has no idea how fast your going......because it is mechanical. It just runs out of steam. Now, you are going up hill with your foot in it, your not going to achieve your speed because you don't have the fuel. Same as fighting a stiff wind. Opposite of downhill. Now you can still have your foot in it because you don't need as much fuel. You are still gaining speed and still putting fuel to it becauss you don't need as much. Again, because it is mechanical and it doesn't know how fast it's going. So, going back to the original point, you can't govern a mech at a certain speed unlike a new truck, because the mechanical truck doesn't control speed as it does fuel delivery. The need for fuel changes upon conditions.....unlike the speedometer.Bean Jr. Thanks this.
