Depends on your pricing level. When (LOL) one gets in for mine the price is $1400

One company here has 9 trucks sitting since October waiting on them,

They do have to be programed for your particular truck, quite a few different part #'s for them.

Used ones are going for 5K+. If it's your only truck, you'll pay or have the truck sit. Mine is a 18 and just a spare so i don't really care how long it sits

Yeah... it's probably one of those things that shuts the truck down dead when it goes. I do coast to coast. So I will most likely have to rent a car, drive home (can't fly, have dog), then fly back with the (used and dusty) part and pay to have it installed. That's prolly $1500+ right there and a big waste of time.

I think maybe I'll just sell the old wreck and hope my working truck's computer thing lasts for another year. Chip shortage should be over by then and freightliners will have new ones in stock at normal prices...

Let The OM know when you're ready.

1: I already have an offer for 10K and I get to keep the one box
2: what is OM? Original manufacturer?
3: will they still do 8k without one box and engine computer?

I would consider that, y'all got me scared about the engine computer shortage. I'm tempted to just take it out and just ride around with it in my truck, and sell the rest as a tow away

    OM is Operations Manager.

Take your best offer. She's in a good mood at the moment with paws going.

I can tell you from past experience, her offer will only go down.

I wouldn't buy into the $5K CPC propaganda if I were you.

I mean there are people that smoke crack that might pay that.

We had a truck go down for 3 weeks until we found a used one.

New is $1200. He paid $1200 for one that was 4 years old.

Ordered a new one. Took 3 months but it finally got here. $1200

    Now there's a spare.

There's also places rebuilding them with one week turn around.

But you go ahead and believe the propaganda. It's a free country.

I'd rather believe your propaganda. It's more peaceful and it makes me not worrying as much. Everything is going to be okay!

Give the esteemed OM some ear skritchies for me

Depends on the part #'s. Some #'s are readily available, some are not.

Failure rate of the rebuilt ones are pretty high.
