And they should tax the piss out of it. Anything that replaces a human should be taxed. A human pays taxes to the government and puts money back into the community. It also supports a family. A robot or autonomous whatever doesn’t. It should be taxed until it makes no sense to do.

What is going to happen when all jobs are replaced? How will people eat? Live? Support their family? A robot should replace humans only if the job is too dangerous or pointless for a human to do. As long as 7 billion people live on the planet and the covid vaccine hasn’t killed most of those we shouldn’t be eliminating jobs.

Nothing actually replaces the human, the jobs just shift.

Machines have to have operators - in addition to programmers, maintenance & repair personnel, truck drivers to haul the machines, assemblers and machinists to build the machines, and engineers to design the machines. And all of the companies involved have humans in management, accounting, HR, legal, IT, safety, janitorial, the mail room, etc.

Trains run on rails, and most of them still have live engineers. Fully autonomous trucks in the near future are a pipe dream outside very specific niche markets.
