You can request smoker/non-smoker and male or female, and they will try to match you up.

 

Took me about a week to be assigned a mentor.
Your first DM should be able to tell you the estimated wait time.

 

It all depends most of my orientation group was on a truck the next day. It really just comes down to how picky you are and luck.

 

I am thankful I already have my mentor before I even start schooling. Just hope schedules line up so I do not have to wait too long between school and going out with the mentor.

 

You'll be given a questionaire to fill out regarding what type of mentor you want so they can find the perfect match. Some of the questions:

• Do you prefer a nonsmoking mentor? Too BAD (Check NO or Fire Me Now)
• Do you prefer a mentor who has completed an anger management course? TOO BAD (Check NO or Fire Me Now)
• Would you like hotel accomodations while mentor is on home time? TOO BAD, stay in the truck (Check NO or Fire Me Now)
• Would you prefer a mentor who is interested in teaching you rather than using you for a team mate for 6 weeks? TOO BAD (Check NO or Fire Me Now)
