Yes my school is super ghetto. The cones are never straight, the trucks are super beat, and one of the two instructers just don’t want to be there. Anyway can anyone tell me the dimensions of an offset lane and a parallel parking box? If it’s different for every state, i’m in NY. Where can I get this info from as the dmv is clueless and my instructers are curious as well. They are using dimensions givin to them by the owner of the school and are unsure if it’s official or not. One girl in the class keeps saying its like 10 ft wide and and no more then 5 foot in length including the truck and insists that that’s “what she saw” when she failed the test.. “it’s that tight yall” I believe is what she said! We aren’t allowed to move the cones because of her persistance that “thats how tight it is on the test, i’m telling you”!

As the fear mongering progressed thru the class, one has to question the validity of her claims!

Well.....it's a good thing you didn't choose company sponsored training with a MEGA! You would probably be on a nice campus, newer equipment, a paved practice pad, and quite possibly your lodging and meals would be covered for 3 weeks. After that horrible experience, they would have sent you out with a trainer for 4-6 weeks.......and PAID YOU while you were learning!! After that they would issue you your own tractor that was probably some ancient 2019 Freightliner or Kenworth that had less than a couple hundred thousand miles on it. Quite possibly with an APU and inverter. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS..........They would force you into INDENTURED SERVITUDE, pay you peanuts and roller dogs at PFJ. After a year of unspeakable cruelty and unmitigated coersion, you would be released from the shackles and find a real nice company to work for! Or.....you might really like that MEGA and stick around for awhile. BTW.....How much hard earned cash did you pay this GHETTO school for tuition?? Please tell me you didn't sign papers for a loan at PAYDAY LENDER RATES!!!

I heard those training complex’s are like prison. They even cut the TVs off at 10pm and send people to your room to make sure you’re not cooking or eating

They cut off the power and water too. And.....they have one pay toilet at the end of the hall for every 50 people that are housed 10 to a room. Worse than Alcatraz in its final few weeks.

LOL, gotta love the class know-it-all who already failed once and therefor knows how everything works. Every CDL class has one of these people. And they are the last person you want to take advice from.

I heard there are no Kentuckians. That’s a hell of thing to do an undead!

Of course, here at Frank’s FREE Truck Driving School, we welcome Kentuckians with open arms... and mouths.

3500 hard earned dablooms. I actually saved for awhile in order to not take out a loan. Theres more to this wonderful school then i mentioned, only pics will do justice. Everyday theres a breakdown, the steering wheel in one of the trucks has the rubber on the steering wheel so worn down that its now just metal, the on road truck is missing 1,2,3,and 5th gear. The straight back/pre trip truck has an air leak so it never builds air to do a proper brake check, the tires have massive chunks missing from the tires which need to be filled daily, the spring hanger is almost disintegrated, the power steering kicks on and off as it pleases, the parking lot looks like afghanastan with pot holes that looks like it was just mortered, 20 students per truck so lucky to see 15 mins seat time in an 8 hour day.. and the list goes on. And yet still, I think I MIGHT be able to pass the road test in a few weeks. Fingers crossed here

Serious question......Why in the name of God did you choose THAT SCHOOL? You had better do your homework when it comes to choosing a company. Good luck!

Dimensions are 12 foot wide for the parallel park and off set backing boxes. For parallel park you get 15 foot longer than the vehicle length. Boundaries are 140 foot forward of the box for offset backing, and side boundaries for parallel park is 40 foot.

Alley dock is 12 foot wide, 40 foot deep with a 2 foot box in the rear. Boundaries are 70 foot from the front of the box along a straight line from the right side of the box.
