Just wonder how other companies are doing this winter with freight. Mine has been the slowest winter in years. How is everyone else doing?
Slow winter?

Slow? Hell we are busy. So busy in fact that we've had to broker out a few loads, wasn't enough empty trucks. I ran 13,500 last month (January) and we are still going strong. It was like this last year too.

January was my best month since I started in July last year.

Slow here too. We had trucks sitting in Cali for 2-3 days waiting for loads...same with the Carolinas. Most runs were +/-600 miles. It's starting to pick up though.
Shymystic Thanks this. -
We are getting our butt kicked. It's nonstop.

I've been very busy... and there hasn't been a lot of complaining about "no freight" from the other guys. OTOH, the economy contracted in December for the first time in a couple of years... it figures that some of us are feeling that.
-
what type of freight do you haul? -
Varies going west produce going east

We are busy as well. I guess the flower wholesalers are gearing up for Valentines Day. I did four trips and ran just a hair over 15,000mls in January. I still had about 4 days at home and a reset on the road with an extra day sitting in Miami. The money is great, but boy it did not come easy either.
