Truck came out of the shop with more than half the things on my write-up not fixed. And given the fact that I was in there 36 hrs, and all they managed to do was an A service, change a 2nd fuse for the nanny system that had blown, check (but not replace) my batteries, and replace my carrier bearing...I am more than happy to get the flying fornication out of here, and never visit this shop again unless my truck is brought in on a hook and I have no other choice. I hooked to an empty, and I am dispatched on another load headed west. Pu in Hershey as soon as possible and deliver in Ogden as soon as possible. With this load, I am pretty sure it puts me over the performance bonus threshold with over a week and a half to spare.(unless the truck burns down because of the not faulty inverter that's faulty)

Everything good weather wise at the house @supersnackbar i came across Payne’s prairie yesterday evening and it was ominous, raining in sheets and wind blowing pretty dang hard.

Our transportation/shop guys are the same way. I turn on my freightliner bucket truck for various niggling issues (check engine light on and off, turned out to be a bad breather on the ISB engines), DPF having issues regening, air compressor cutting out every 20 seconds (bad valve on the bottom of the drier) and I get it back with all the same problems present. It's annoying because I need it to be running 100%. It doesn't help when someone else drives it, it comes up asking for a regen on the dash and they keep driving it. That and my company is big on bio diesel which these trucks don't seem to like in cold weather.

Well, change of plans a bit. Dropping this load in Joliet at our drop yard, picking up a different load out of there heading to the Wally DC in Grantsville, UT. The load I am under has some time on it, the load I am picking up needs to be there on Monday. So, a few more miles, and maybe some brownie points with the planners so I can keep getting these long 1 stop loads....
I wasn't 10 miles from the PA shop this morning before the nanny-crash system they fixed already had me fantasizing about taking a baseball bat to it...Last edited: Mar 19, 2021

I swear, these trucks are part of some psychological experiment to see how far they can push a driver before he snaps and goes on a nationwide killing spree.Knucklehead, TokyoJoe, InTooDeep and 5 others Thank this. -

Did my swap of loads in Joliet. And got a dry load on a Shaffer trailer. A whopping 12 pallet, 10,000 lb, 1425 mile load.

Saw 2 new things on company equipment recently. Not sure if it's a test of the equipment or what is in store for our new stuff. Saw a truck in New Kingstown with a side scan nanny radar bulge on the passenger side, and it looked fairly new like it was recently installed. Then today, I saw a Shaffer trailer come in to the Joliet drop yard today with something sticking up on the roof. I thought it was just a piece of the top of the reefer that had hit something, but when he was passing in front of me, it looked like a shark fin, right where the reefer's exhaust comes out. Plus, it has some aero-deflectors that wrapped around from the side of the trailer around the back, much like what Prime Inc is replacing their tail cones with...I really can't see how either of those aero enhancements would make enough difference to offset the purchase price.
Lonesome and Speed_Drums Thank this.
