I don’t think he’s pushing it as hard as he needs to be and just taking what they give him.. which i say is a problem too..

The timing of the days she is off fits a cancer treatment schedule (my wife's cousin went thru high level chemo and radiation treatment), so it may indeed be her.

I hope your dispatcher gets better, she is going through some hard and scary times. No wonder you've been pretty calm about her being out so much, it's obviously understandable.

I know dvrtech is saying be an aggressive ####### about getting moved, but here's the thing:

The big bosses probably don't want to move a bunch of people off Snackbar's dispatcher because they realize a lot of drivers might want off her board due to her health problems. But management knows they can't move everybody off of her board. Maybe dispatch has already moved the maximum people off her board already that they can move, so moving Snackbsr isn't an option.

So, management is hoping for the best and hoping she will beat cancer and get better.

Also, because of her extreme and unfortunate situation, Snackbar has to approach the issue very delicately. You can't be an ####### to management when talking about your dispatcher who is battling cancer, anybody with elementary school level social skills knows this.

To add on further to Snackbar's dilemma, the drivers market is #### and has been #### for a while now. Reefer isn't specialized freight, it's barely more specialized than dry van but just barely. Crete knows if anybody quits, there's a thousand more drivers ready to take the quitting drivers place.

I'm not saying Snackbar can't quit, I'm saying Crete doesn't care if he quits so Snackbar can't use that as a bargaining chip.

it's a tough situation to be in. If he's already asked to switch dispatchers and the big bosses told him no, I think the best he can do is wait it out and hope his dispatcher gets better health wise, at which point he can properly address his mileage issues.

Snackbar, you said Crete won't put drivers on dedicated accounts unless they live close to the account, but what if you tell dispatch that you will volunteer to be a "dedicated fill in guy" whenever needed for these dedicated accounts? Wouldn't a reliable "fill in driver" be better for Crete than having to beg drivers to do the dedicated accounts?

Because I'm assuming the dedicated accounts probably pay better than the 2300-2400 mile weeks you've been getting. Just an idea. Happy (day early) 4th.

One of your steering wheel holder almost missed their exit on I10 in downtown Phoenix the other day. Traffic was moving about 35 mph and they stopped and then made a right hand turn across 4 lanes to get off.

On any of the dedicated, you would have to run way harder to make what I am on OTR. The CPM is that much lower. I don't want to run harder for the same or less money, I would move on before I had to do that.

Idk how much you spend at truck stops, but being home more would probably help save money. I think some of the dedicated accounts have weird pay scales, like Walmart i think is x cpm if under like 200mi, y cpm 200-500mi and z cpm if over 500mi. Something like that. If freight really takes a dive, I might be asking them to just run me in and out of the house. Like I don't want to sit a truckstop god knows where waiting on a load. Idk how well that'd work in Florida though. I get to sit tomorrow because my delivery Tuesday took 7 hrs to unload, completely borked my trip plans. Kept the loads i had, but instead of being able to make delivery midday today, I get to first thing tomorrow

The Costco dedicated account only pays $.54 a mile… Whether you’re at the Aurora Colorado location the Forest Park, Georgia location or the West Palm Beach location…

This is how the tire looked on the empty trailer. I picked up today in Victorville, California at Mars… The driver who hauled it out here probably from the East Coast obviously never did any kind of inspection on it and I reported it and they’re gonna have a little word with the driver… This is entirely unacceptable

I spend around $100-120/week at Walmart for food and necessities. The only use I have for a truckstop is fuel, parking and a shower (unless they have a Popeyes or a Charlie's Cheese Steak). Other than that, I prepare my own food (including coffee) in my truck, so I would spend the same amount to eat out here as I would at home. Besides, I don't want to go on any kind of dedicated account. It would bore me to death running the same area all the time for one customer. It's this simple, either my miles improve here or my miles will improve some where else, and hopefully the new place doesn't have all the nanny reminder driver distraction ######## on their eld/dispatch system (along with all the nanny messages coming from a corporate overlord who thinks we can't even do the simple parts of this job without their guidance)
