Needs to start his own thread where he can post how everyone else is screwing up because they don't do it like he does. As far as I'm concerned, from this point, he's invisible (at least to me)....with a wave of the forum's magic wand...poof, he's gone.

They'd have a hissy fit if they had to do what I did yesterday (by choice). I live unloaded at a grocery warehouse yesterday morning, live loaded at a water warehouse before noon, delivered the water load (drop/hook) and made it most the way to Omaha before shutting down. A 500+ mile day and 2 of the 3 customers I visited were full load, live load/unload. The only reason I am not sitting at Hunts Omaha yard is because I got done with my drop/hook at N. Platte in under 30 min, but didn't realize I didn't take long enough to complete a 30, and by the time I realized I screwed up, my 30 clock and my 14 clock were only 35 min apart, so taking another 30 wouldn't gain me enough time to make Omaha yesterday.

Let’s look at the other side of that coin for a minute, particularly since I’ve never worked for this type of an outfit before and you obviously have.

I’ve seen it stated in multiple places around the site that if one allows himself to receive the doormat treatment for whatever reason, nepotism or what have you, he will continue to do so.

The one nice thing about pulling a reefer is that cold storage facilities are a lot more expensive to build, so they tend to be less plentiful, so the distance between them is further. Dry, general freight warehouses are getting like Dollar General stores, they're popping up everywhere so dry freight tends to have shorter trips. I mean, if you're in the midwest, and you want strawberries in January, they have to come from Cali or from a ship along one of the coasts, so the trip from source to store is a longer one than just general dry freight which has probably hopped from one warehouse to another across the country. When I was at Crete way back when, their length of haul per load was already a lot shorter than what reefer freight was.

    My mantra has always been..
Give no shi* to anyone and take none from anyone.
If you don't like your slot in this world.. change it.
After 5+ decades driving truck I've seen much change and know nothing I'm gonna do or say will stop or alter that.
I could leave my employment Monday and have another job before I got home.
Loyalty or efficiency is not a metric factored by companies any longer.

We're all just spokes in the wheel and it continues to function if one is lost.

Standing up for one's self is good. Wearing your colon on your head as you do it tends to be counter productive.

If I were in SSB's shoes, I would not be happy. His miles suck and OPs doesn't seem to care - I'm just pointing out why I think they don't care.
