The new policy is to look through the previous inspection reports and make sure you get the trailers with issues. :biggrin_25523:

Does Crete require their drivers/new hires to take a sleep study test?

Does the company doctor use any other criteria than weight and neck messurement to determine whether a driver has to take a sleep apnea test?

Just the guidelines that the Feds recommend. I am borderline on the BMI, but my doctor wasn't feeling too good, so he didn't get too inquisitive and didn't recommend one.

Currently sitting at the Coldwater, MI Wally DC waiting for my trailer to be unloaded. Saw a Shaffer in a door and thought of this thread.

Last week was bad, this week I'll have about 3300mi after delivery tonight. Got a preplan while getting loaded for a 1500ish mile start to next week. Hopefully keep it up

You hear so many stories about sleep apnea and I don't know much about it. I never had a doctor recommend that I have one. I am 76, 6'1", 210 lbs. and have a 17" neck and my wife says I snore sometimes. My doctor recommended that I use Breathe Right nose strips at night and they have helped a lot. If I follow those charts for BMI I am over the normal numbers. My weight and neck size hasn't changed since high school and all my other numbers appear normal so if I were still driving I would be against having a sleep apnea test.

If they solely went by BMI and neck size, most Olympic athletes would fall under the gubbermint's sleep study recommendations. That's why they're having such a hard time getting it passed as a requirement under the regulations. They just can't medically prove that BMI and neck size are enough to require a study, the patient must meet several other criteria before a doctor can require one medically.
