Gave up waiting for an empty in Tar Heel. They sent me to the chicken plant in St. Pauls, NC...ended up being a wild goose chase. I was down to a little over 90 minutes on my 14, so I told them I am headed to bed, I will get up sometime tomorrow, and if I can't find an empty until after my load appointment, tough crap. As disorganized as Op's is on the Shaffer side, I don't see how they stay in business. All these reefers have tracking, if the unit hiccups, you get a beep from the system and from a dispacher, so why the #### send someone to a place to pick up a trailer they could obviously see isn't there. It truly boggles the mind.

They probably did it to occupy you for a bit.

That's odd. When I was with them. They wanted me to double check the fuel of a reefer once. Because they thought what it was showing on their end is screwing up. Wasn't even a trailer I was going to grab

I don't think the GPS is a continuous monitor. They sent me to pick up a trailer a couple years ago to take to a repair shop, were able to tell me down to the area in the yard it was supposed to be... it wasnt there. At all. The wild goose chase is a thing at any company that does d&h.

They sent me my load info w/o having secured an empty. In the load instructions, there is no precool temp or setpoint temp. In the comments it says trailer must be precooled before arriving. It says run temp is 33° for slurry mix, 0° for frozen meat....but I have no clue what they're sending me in to pick up. The customer is Mars...at first I though it was candy, but since it says slurry or frozen meat, it sounds more like Mars pet food. And I still haven't been given a direction for picking up an empty, that has to be clean, so if it needs a washout, it's gonna be fun getting it all done by my 10 am appointment.

And for all that wait time in CT last week, they decided not to pay me the full amount. I am gonna start calling payday "Disappointment Day".

And the hits just keep on coming. They send me to Unilever in Raeford for an empty, which is closed for 2 days, so there is nobody in the office to release a trailer, and the guards won't let me in. I swear, this company would #### up a wet dream. Meanwhile I am running around like a chicken with it's head cut off wasting log hours for nothing. If I manage to stay around until the miniscule bonus is paid it will be a miracle.

How do you know that they even knew that Unilever would be closed? Unilever might’ve never communicated that… don’t assume they automatically knew.

Please...this isn't a mom-n-pop 1 off shipper. You hear it all the time on the weekly updates about freight slowdowns because our customers shutting down for maintenance. They just don't spontaneously say, let's close for a couple days and not tell anyone. When loads are scheduled for pick-up, they're scheduled are around such events so carriers can adjust.
