From what I was told recently is that there are apx 5000 crete trucks and Shaffer side has apx 1300 trucks..not sure how accurate that is but I do know Shaffer is definitely smaller side than Crete is..

Actually, Crete was always Red and Shaffer/Sunflower was always blue. They would put a Shaffer driver in a red truck, or a Crete driver in a blue for better equipment utilization. (If a driver broke down and no similar color trucks were close, why move him across the country to pick up the same color truck if the other color was available near them). The mixed door logo came about due to one of our big customers that had an issue with one logo'd truck pulling the other logo's trailer (not sure if it was a dry customer or a reefer customer), but they would turn them away for some reason, even though both had the same DOT number on the side. So, they re-stickered the trucks with both names

that is probably why I have almost exclusively been assigned a red truck while working on the Shaffer side then.

As long as the money is green, the color of the truck doesn't matter to me except white. Plain Jane White with red and blue stickers looks like crap, like what W-TFI is doing with all the former Daseke trucks. That reminds me of the generic product labels when I was a kid. Honestly, a plain white truck is only slightly worse than the Godawful Gray (or polished primer) color trucks that SPD has, saw my 1st white with red and blue stickers today... that a huge step down from the gray, IMO.

Got with Ops 1st thing this morning and asked if they could see if the consignee had any earlier appointments for this evening instead of tomorrow. 15 min later, I got an appointment for tonight, and then a preplan that picks up at a Budweiser warehouse in Aurora in the morning going to Lincoln for Thursday. Will put me at 3150 for the week, plus it puts me close enough on my mileage to get an A service done without screwing up my week. Sometimes it's worth pushing hard.

It certainly is a different industry. Was walking out of the truckstop and I overheard a brief snippet of a conversation between a couple drivers. It wasn't about their latest wild adventure or their latest tough delivery...they were discussing which continuous glucose monitor works best and which app works best with it.

That stupid new reefer fuel solution program yeah if they think I’m gonna follow it on this load ha ha ha ha not a chance… They want me to stop in Lima Ohio to put 6 gallons of reefer fuel on and then stop again in Indiana and put 100 gallons of TRUCK fuel on… I’m gonna fuel both of them at the same time

It’s funny how TFI has relatively plain looking trucks with plain looking signage but they’ll pay the extra money for red frame paint.

Then what do we do when we need to top off before we drop a loaded trailer at a receiver that is a ways away from the last reefer stop, then have to top off the empty before we drop it at the next shipper...do we have to rerequest a fuel solution for each trailer? Do these reefer solutions count as excessive hand holding nanny bull #### like the other hand holding nanny bull #### I have been complaining about all these years?

Sitting here trying to fill out a detention form for the shipper. I get to the point where you put in the starting time for the appointment window and...it won't let me. When I hit the little clock icon, it puts an error on the arrival time/date section. If I just click on the time and try to enter it manually, I get a popup from my phone like I am trying to cut/paste or look up a phone number. This used to work on the phone app, but the latest update has messed it up. Where do they hire these IT people, the short bus academy for computer programming? Btw, it does it on the app on the tablet too, so it isn't my phone. The company app is about to be removed from my personal equipment...it's just a waste of memory.

my current trailer has 3/4 of a tank of fuel. The next load is 58° stop start and they literally want me to put 43gallons of reefer fuel in on this trip… Goodness gracious here’s a picture of it
