Last Freightliner I had ...put a heavy weight on accelerator pedal...used a 20lb hexagon dumbell...then start truck ...and it would idle 24 / 4 ....pedal had to stay flat against floor

When mine wasn't idling I just jammed a box of triscuits between the pedal and the plastic above it. Idle was about 750 and never turned off.

You could probably also substitute a box of oatmeal or a boot. Just anything to prop up there and keep the throttle above idle would work.

How long does it idle before it shuts off and doesn't restart? When you have the opti-idle on.

Equipment aside, can't really complain. They do micromanage a lot more than my last visit here. But for me, the miles have been more than expected, so the money is good IF you invest the time out on the road. If you like getting home more often, then you'll do o.k. but the best money is staying out a while, then go home a while.
I have figure out a way to do it without putting anything between the pedal and the interior (the other day, I actually used my bamboo back scratcher in my boot so that it wouldn't slide, then wedged it between the seat and the throttle)...but on the Freightliner, if you look where that S shaped lever that is hooked to the pedal, it goes into it's mechanism under the dash. All it takes is something small in that gap to raise the rpms just enough to keep the countdown timer from starting.
depends on how warm it is outside. (And how sunny it is heating up the body of the truck). With my insulated window shades, it cools down from warm to shut-down in 10-15 min on average (I keep it a click or two into the blue on the thermostat)...but heats back up just as fast.

I talked to another driver here that has been in 11 different trucks in the last 8 months. Including the KW I dropped off at the Orlando KW dealer. He said that thing still has ECM issues, and had the park-assist tablet go bad. They tried to fix it, even put a new tablet in the bunk, but couldn't get it to work. So, they just turned off the idle timer and let him idle as needed.

Doesn't shut down our timer...I can adjust the rpm's, for 180 seconds. So, Creaffer is one of 'those companies' he was talking about

I picked my load up at an Interstate warehouse in Franklin, IN. They have a cool way of checking in. When you pull up to the gate, there are signs with a code and a phone number. You text the code to the phone number, then they reply with a link that allows you to enter all your truck, trailer and pu info. They process it, reply a location on the yard to drop your drop trailer and the trailer number you're picking up, and another link once you find your loaded trailer(or a door number if you're live loading). When you hook to the new trailer, you go to that new link, and presto, there is a digital copy of your B/L, with a place at the bottom for you to initial for the temp setting, and a box you sign with your finger. Once it's all done, while they are processing it, you can send off your load call. Once processed (it takes just a minute or two) the link says to head back to the gate for your bills. When you get to the gate, you text 'check out' to that same number, and a masked employee comes out and hands you your signed bills and you're on your way...only contact you have with anyone in person is that last masked employee. If you don't use a smart phone, then there is a phone number there as well that you call and they just give you the same info they normally text, and then you are allowed in the guard building to actually put pen to paper.
