They do POL stuff as their bread and butter- which includes totes of temperature sensitive stuff going to airports. There is a tank farm on us 151 in wi that I see reefers pulling out of.

Another ice cream load from Sikeston, MO going to Cedar Falls, IA. There must have been a couple dozen Shaffer trailers at the cold storage there in Sikeston. And there was a bunch of trailers at the Unilever ice cream plant when I dropped my load of boxes in Covington yesterday. I went a different route from Neosho to Covington than what the routing and fuel solution showed. Made it to the delivery with 2 minutes on my 70. One more redlight and I would have been in violation...livin' on the edge, just to make things exciting. Seems like different types of freight comes in spurts. For a while it was bananas, bananas and more babanas, then apples, apples apples. Now it's ice cream.

Starting to feel like I am back at Big G. My current load is a drop, but can't arrive earlier than 1800 today. After I shut down yesterday, I was sent 2 preplans. One, was a 2 stop t-called load that delivered today. The 2nd pplan was a load out of N. Liberty IA that picked up tomorrow and delivers Weds in Michigan. No explanation on how they wanted me to handle the 2 stop. So, I said no to it, and yes to the Michigan load. Got up this morning, got rolling so I could get a split break in before delivering, then roll down near the pick up location (no parking at shipper) ready to pick up tomorrow...got to my fuel stop 15 miles from today's 1800 delivery, fill up, and head in for a shower. Get back to the truck smelling and feeling better only to find a different preplan. One that picks up at the same location as tomorrows shipper, only, it picks up tonite...but not enough time for me to deliver this load and get down there to pick up on time let alone time for a washout if I need one. The one thing I miss about open deck and glass hauling...most customers are closed on the weekend, and no weekend dispatch to screw the pooch.

It took until just now for Lincoln to see that I said no to the preplan they sent at 7 am this morning. Pu appt was too close to my current del appointment. And it's delivery appointment is 19 hrs after I start my clock. Plus I am not sure why I am even getting preplans. I had set my PTA for 6 am tomorrow when I sent in my load info at pickup.
