Creaffer has opti-idle on their Freightliner's. I have an auto-start on my Cummins, but it will idle as long as I need it to. They tried APU's back when I worked for them before, but the decided against them for some reason.

I put in my request for a manual back when I was getting set in up orientation...but I guess that wasn't possible this time. We'll see, I have my evaluation to do while I am there...maybe I can get them to find a manual in the system somewhere. Or at least a KW...anything but a Freighliner auto

From what I've been told by other drivers, the freightliner auto is the best of the bunch. It would be for sure if they didn't lock out things. You can still shift with manual locked out, but it's not in manual. I downshift mine a lot when approaching a grade, I was skeptical when I got this truck, but have grown to really like it. It outpulls any ten speed I've ever driven here. But being in econo mode makes for a really slow start, but once up to speed its fine

Something you don't see every day at a Walmart DC

    oops.jpg

Of course, what you don't see is who did it. A Swift dedicated driver who works out of this DC

Sounds like you’ll have to drive whatever they assign you to or move on to another carrier.

Either option is a distinct possibility at this time

It’s a truck. It’s merely a tool used to do a job. You could be in this 2012 Volvo that I’m in. Almost 900k on the clock, almost no storage, and just generally a turd. I’d love to have that Cascadia you’re about to get.

I work for a private fleet and have been in KW’s and Pete’s for years. No not Wally World . Was assigned at new Freightshaker with the auto two years ago. Moaned worse than you are but like it now. Yes it rattles like most cheaper trucks but gets me down the road. Pulls well and the auto works fine at 250K. If you ever find that perfect trucking job enlighten us. I’ve worked for 4 private fleets in my 40+ years and although pay and equipment has been better than mega’s
