That is one thing I did confirm in my state with the Texas Department of Public Safety when I renewed my license back in October that if a student takes their CDL exam on an auto shift then they will have an auto restrictions placed on their license

Would that be this newfangled topography cruise crap that’s supposedly programmed into the ECM and works by GPS?

Not sure how it works. It has 2 enclosed cameras in the windshield and a radar unit in the bumper. The enclosure says Freightliner.

What amazes me, if a truck driver went into certain states with a GPS covering as much of the windshield as these cameras do, they would get a ticket for an obstructed view

It’s to make wage slaves. If you only have an automatic endorsement, then you’re forced to stay at one of the Megas and their auto only fleet because they are the only ones who will hire you.

When I was first assigned this ###-et Mismanager I got the impression that we weren't gonna get along, mostly from the 'here is how you need to do your job' attitude I got from this cubicle dwelling desk driver. Until yesterday, I thought I had just gotten the wrong impression, and we were indeed going to be able to work together...then, I got sent my current load. And he just can't see why I can't turn 4030 miles in 8 days in a 65 mph truck, that doesn't have the power to pull a wet fart out of a good-buddy lot lizzard's butt...(and this truck won't pull #### either). I started Tuesday morning after hometime going from home to Auburdale FL to pick up headed for Mebane, a nice 850 mile start. Then over to Halifax NC to pick up, headed for Salem, OR for Tuesday, a 3160 mile run. They sent me the preplan for the OR load while I was asleep, so 1st thing in the morning on Weds, I didn't refuse the load, but messaged that it would be Weds before I could be in OR legally, and gave alternate locations I could get to, and the day I could be there in case they wanted to set up a t'call enroute, so we didn't have to reschedule. I waited all day to hear back, but got nothing. Before I dropped in Mebane, I asked if he got the msg, and that is when the ''I just don't understand" attitude started....and after the day I had with this POS truck and it's video arcade sound effects...I was in no mood to hear his BS. He pushed the A-hole button and I showed my butt a little, but no alternate plans were set up before he left for the day, so...who knows what is gonna happen on Monday.

As far as how I like this truck...it makes me wish I had the old Maxxfarce powered Prostar from 7 years ago back because it pulled better. This thing is a major DOG when it's loaded. The big bridge coming around the east side of Jacksonville (over the port), it was down to 30 mph. That Cummins Cornbinder I just got out of would have had to drop 1 gear.

That explains a lot. Sometimes when I’m loaded heavy with plasma (right at 80,000), I can still pass trucks really struggling through WV on 70. I’m always thinking what dogs their trucks are. My Cascadia pulls better than the Magnum Pete I drove...
You got a dog. Crete has that thing all ####ed up...
Hopefully the pay checks make up for it...

This guy sounds like the type that it isn't worth volunteering much in the way of information to, because no matter what the situation it will be construed as "you're trying to get out of doing something", so just make it to Oregon when you can and schedule the appointment yourself.

We're not allowed to reschedule ourselves...they have to do it for us. I swear I am going to buy one of those fez hats that trained monkeys wear...because thats what I feel like sometimes

Which is exactly why I will never have a third time at Crete. Never.
