If I were stupid-stitous, I might have had a bad day. The door I unloaded at this a.m. was door 13, the parking slot where I picked the load up in Reynoldsburg, OH was parked in slot 13...if this were yesterday, I'd put a mirror under a ladder and throw a black cat thru it.

I’m superstitious, but maybe I should give it up. Not long ago I had a load and 666 was in the seal number. Before I picked it up, getting ready at the TS, a guy drives up, stops his truck in front of me, gets out, comes up and says, stay alive out there. That was freaky and when I saw the seal, I was sure it was my last load. But I survived. So maybe I’ll work on not being superstitious.

I have 2 more questions real quick and then I’ll shut up and go back to lurking. Question 1 is this dedicated account I’m looking into at Crete, I know it’s tough to say but how often do these things change? It sounds good but I don’t want them to get underbid in a month and I’m shuffling back to something else. Cuz I’m not gonna lie the 3 day weekends this dedicated run Crete is advertising is the allure here. I have a daughter I get on weekends and it’s so hard to find a trucking job that’s home on weekends. The nature of the business I know, but unfortunately that’s my situation reality. Question 2 is more trivial; if I do follow through and am invited to orientation, are the hotel rooms shared? I’m not trying to be holier than thou just because I have 15 years driving experience, I just straight up don’t wanna share a hotel room with some dude. Thanks in advance as always to any inputs.

    Typically crete contracts renew yearly.

Also no sharing rooms at Crete. You get your own room.

OK, got to get my brown pants ready. Let's just say driving a empty trailer with 60 mph cross winds does not equal a good time.

Finished getting unloaded in Montana and was bringing trailer back to the Walmart DC when I get an alert of high winds all along i90 and i25. Thought I could at least get to a truck stop or rest area further down but no. 20 miles before hitting i25 I'm in the right lane and my trailer is completely in the left and leaning hard due to a sudden gust. Thankfully the cover of a hill broke the wind and I got back under and quickly made my way to the next exit 1 mile away and got off.

Currently parked on an on ramp and thankfull the hill is providing some cover cause I'm still parked against the wind. Whole truck is rocking and I'm here hoping it don't flip and block the whole ramp.

I'm on dry freight duty (in a Shaffer trailer). Since leaving home, I've had 1 temp controlled load (Silk milk) and a 'protect from freezing' Unilever load that the reefer ran only a short time every 3 or 4 hours. And I have a bunch of short runs under 500 miles(one was under 300). My next load is one of my longest. After I drop this load in Clayton, NC tomorrow, I pick up in Tarboro, NC going up to the Chicagoland area for Weds. afternoon. It will be a good miles week, but this short #### is burning up my logbook

Winds died down so drove to nearest truck stop. Originally had enough to make it back but waiting for Winds to slow ate up a lot of clock.

No snow in this part of the country yet. Was in the upper 60s in Montana.

    Lonesome and dwells40 Thank this.

For those that have been with the company a long time, do you remember when being dispatched on a load out of the Columbus area headed to the southeast, the suggested routing would take you down US35? (when a lot of it in WV was the 2 lane following the river) But now, most of that route is 4 lane, they've been routing me down US33, and my fuel stop is almost always the Love's is Ripley WV.

They have most of the new section of US35 open now. There is a small section of 2 lane where you use to transition to that old 2 lane part, but it is almost 100% 4 lane from I-64 to Ohio now.
