Most of it is done...there is a couple miles of single lane where they're building the new connection for the west(north)bound lanes...and most of the new construction doesn't have as bad of a ski-jump over the bridges like the rest of the WV part

Some of the bridge transition points are ridiculous across the US.
Hey,I wonder why they got rid of the rate a customer on the app?

I guess putting a straight edge across the joint between road surface and bridge deck is too technical for some construction companies.

honestly I say oh god to myself once I get on the bridge and see what I’ll be hitting shortly. Nothing like a 6 inch drop into some grooved pavement, maybe add a pothole

There is also a real bad one on I-94 between Gary, IN and the IL line. When I was at WyMoore, we had the forward facing built in crash-cams, even at 45-50 mph it would trigger a crash event on the camera.

And I second the 295 ski jump bypass...they even repaved some of them trying to smooth them out, but only made them worse.

My sick mind has envisioned a solution to the problem...it's a trailer pulled behind a construction vehicle. On this trailer is a handicap pottie chair with a privacy curtain that the supervisor has to sit on, like he/she is taking a poop...but instead of a bucket under the seat, there is a Louisville slugger positioned just below their rectum that is connected to a roller on the road surface....when the trailer rolls over the repaved road, the bigger the bump, the further up their rectum the baseball bat gets jammed...the way I see it, this would have 3 possible outcomes...1) really crappy roads because there would be a shortage of supervisors, 2) glass smoothe roads, or 3) a lot of 'alternative lifestyle' individuals as supervisors who enjoy that type of thing and we'd have just as crappy of roads as we do now, with worse backups because the supervisor wants to test the road again and again.

I had a trainee who was a construction guy previously. What he told me is the base layer of rock needs at least a month to settle and compress before they start adding concrete and asphalt.

So build the bridge, wait a month, and then build the road around it.
