I'll never understand how these companies can afford trucks that try to drive for you, tracking systems and cameras that tell them every time you fart...but they have nothing that tells them where their trailers are, so you have to run around doing dispatch's job for them.

 

I couldn’t agree more. I know I’ve mentioned it before a few times in various threads on this forum, but I’ll never forget when a little old lady showed up to Estes in tears because “her whole house” was in an Estes Sure Move pup and it got “lost in the system”.

 

Ours, too. It shouldn't be this hard.

 

in addition to GPS, the reefer units are connected to the internet. If i put info in my check call and the reefer is set different, the system kicks back the loaded call until you set the reefer right. I've also had dispatch send me messages in the middle of the night telling me to check the reefer as its throwing warnings at them... most of the time, its BS but once in a while, they catch the breakdown before I do

 

Well my orientation is set for November 29th. The recruiter called me today and verified I wanted the Monday-Thursday, welcome me to Crete and explain a few things.
1) I guess living literally in KC he said it’ll be mostly Kelloggs in Romeoville IL and Kelloggs in Atlanta. So hopefully those facilities aren’t terrible.
2) and I found this a bit perplexing. With my “experience” I’ll be having a driver cam. He didn’t say for how long he just said “starting out”. Now I’m not a anti-cammer by any means. I have one now and I did 7 years at Estes, so it’s not a big deal to me. I just don’t get it. I have 15 years driving experience and a spotless MVR. Maybe it’s just something they’re doin for new hires? Again not a biggie for me, and not a deal breaker by any stretch, I just found it odd.

 

Hired with one year of exp here. No cam
