The two main issues I have is that the lack of control caused by the automated transmission tends to make you hit the kingpin harder, resulting in a bounce. Since the jaws snap closed a little slower in the winter anyways, add a little drag from the mechanism and the bounce - you get more bad hooks.

The second issue is when you release the 5th wheel, the handle only comes 98% of the way out. When you release the brakes/put the truck in gear, the jostling causes the 5th wheel to relatch.

Up here on the Minnesota dedicated, it gets into the negative and stays there for months. A driver moved up here from down south and his wife complained how cold it was at 20. Thats nothing, compared to the average which is like -30 come mid winter for the area they moved to.

Last winter I was up in like Theif River Falls making a delivery and the onboard computer said it was in the -40... pieces of aluminum were cracking and falling off my truck with each pothole. Never felt so cold in my life, then again I live in south Texas.

January 2019 temps brrrrrrrr was not up here then but got almost as cold in January of 2020.

Found out how to turn off the auto-dimming high beams on this Cascadia - Epic Model F. If you turn the headlight switch to the 'A' position (for automatic), your lights come on and off like a car. If you use your high beams while in the 'A' position, they auto-dim. If you don't want all that auto crap, just turn the switch all the way the other way, and they operate like normal.

After 25 years of this crap, I now live in Arizona. Anyone who needs to ask why, should take a drug test.

For those that don't have to endure this new Cascadia Nag system, here is the gist of it. 2 parts for the collision avoidance. 1, the usual OnGuard radar box under the bumper. 2, the windshield camera box. On the display of the dash, you can see the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle closest to the front of your truck. Unlike the older OnGuard system, it no longer displays the other vehicle's speed. Here is what happens that is driving me insane.

Scenario 1. Say, a vehicle is entering the interstate ahead of you, you can't move over, but you see that this other vehicle is one of the limited number of drivers that does actually know how to accelerate and enter the flow of traffic correctly, so you ease up a bit (because you know that when they do enter the lane in front of you, it's gonna freak the system out, so a little more room keeps it from doing it too bad). Now, the person is accelerating away from you, and you can see the distance increasing.5,10, 15 feet per second...meaning, you aren't gonna hit them if you attempt to resume your governed speed, so you hit the accelerator to pick up speed...and if that other vehicle is within 300-350 feet, no matter how fast they are pulling away, the system blasts you with a double chime thru the speakers, and you get a 'distance warning' on the screen...WHY? 300’ ahead, and going faster than I can...there is no freakin danger.

Scenario 2, you're in some traffic, but rolling along decent, but you see ahead of you that there is some slowing traffic, but again, still rolling along, so you instinctively ease up on the throttle, and let the engine inertia slow you down enough to match the traffic speed. In normal trucks, that works. In these new Freightliners, the ####### thing goes into E-coast when you lift off the throttle, so it E-coasts to the point where it #####es at you, because it let you coast around the same speed you were going, and you got within 300' of the traffic...

The half-tard turd twiddlers at Freightliner can't utilized the system so that it so that it uses the distance it already sees to figure out that you can either safely accelerate or restrict the E-coast when in traffic.

I spoke to a Crete driver today. He said they will disable the camera portion of this system after you've been in the truck a while. They want to see you react to the thing blasting you...but he said they want to see brake use...after the 1st of the year (if I make it that long)and if they still have this system driving me nuts, the 1st question I ask my next perspective employer is 'Do you have the Freightliners with the Detroit Assurance system'. If they say yes, I will apologize for wasting their time, and hang up unless they pay $0.75/mile, or an above average guaranteed minimum weekly amount.
