    Here’s one to ponder.

    Can a man be said to be truly “wealthy” when he can say in no uncertain terms “there is nothing in this world that I need or want bad enough for someone to have to go out and buy it for me”?

    Not to channel my inner “Scrooge”, but the commercialism has made me grow to hate Christmas. I like watching others enjoy it from a distance. I don’t like having to take part myself.

    Personally, the only reason I go home for Christmas is for the Grandkids, which I believe is the only reason to have Christmas... Christmas is for the children's enjoyment. The wife and I have told our kids, don't waste your money on gifts for us, spend it on the kids.

    The trailer I picked up in Murfreesboro looks like it might have been laid over on it's side at one point. Not bent up, just huge scratches the entire length, bottom to top.

    No thank you. I didn't get into trucking as a lifestyle, I got into trucking to pay for my lifestyle. It's worked out better than expected. But I don't get paid pennies per mile, a percentage of the load, nor am I on a salary. And I'm a company driver that's home every day. I worked 9 hours of double time and a half today and never set foot in the truck. I was in my personal vehicle.

    Congratulations...but that was a tongue-in-cheek way of wishing a Merry Christmas in a sarcastically materialistic way(because Christmas is no longer a religious celebration, it's a materialistic event where a large portion of the population of the contemporary world racks up huge debt buying stuff for people they may or may not like)


    ....and I wouldn't change jobs with you for your pay combined with mine.

    We get it. You’d rather spend Christmas at a Peelot with big Earl pooping in the stall next to you than going home to spend time with your family. What a lifestyle!
