Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

They finally told me to bring this leaking POS trailer to Deland and pick up a different empty, which I hate doing around the holidays because this place is tight when it's 1/2 full. It took me until 17:00 to get there because of more heavy stop and go traffic (long before I got to Orlando). By the time I got in the yard, wiggled into a spot, wrote up the bad trailer, found a cleanable empty, got it cleaned out (and rinsed out after I blew the pallet scraps off the spilled coke syrup), my 14 was down to the point where I wouldn't make it back to Orlando, load, and get back here for a break, I told dispatch, I won't even try...if they want, they can give me a service failure. I won't be getting any kind of performance bonus anyway this quarter (or any in the future with butthead dispatching me).

 

2nd paycheck of the month following the end of the quarter (I think)...and for the 1st 2 quarters of '22 it is .04 cpm for all miles(it you got over the mileage threshold)

 

They have me on a live load, live unload... that the pu appointment time got mixed up. The customer was expecting me at 0800, the brain-trust told me 15:30. Told them it wouldn't be earlier than the 15:30 because the customer I delivered to this morning looked like they unloaded it in a mudbog, crushing pallets as they went. Told them to just reassign the load to someone else, because after all the waiting for 1 damaged case, then trying to get the f'd up trailer fixed quick, I finally gave up hope of making it to the shipper today, and have pretty much resigned myself to just phone it in for a while. I am sick of knocking my dick in dirt making up for all the garbage equipment failures. Maybe if they start losing some customers due to service failures, maybe they'll get their head out of their ### and get #### fixed (I won't hold my breath on that one)

 

It usually is $.02, but due to all the business we have(or that they say we have) they're giving us an extra $.02 for the 1st 2 quarters this year
