Guess some people..love to brag..like 074344 did ...about how great it is for them at nauseum...and berate others..so they can feel good about themselves...even to the point...of telling strangers....who could care less

I never understand why people in specific genres of trucking that they know I want nothing to do with think that if they post their experiences it will somehow make me change my mind and say 'oh jesus, how could I have been so wrong all theses years' and suddenly decide to switch... especially those who claim they have been following along with all my adventures all these years.

I use to compete in local team golf events with a scratch golfer. A great teammate. He was from Michigan.

But about once or twice a round, he'd inevitably miss a short putt.

For the next 15-30 seconds, he'd be the loudest unfiltered Yosemite Sam on the planet, cussing himself out.

By the next tee, he'd be back to normal and would likely string together a few birdies.

The perfectionist in him needed the outburst as a pressure release valve.

He didn't have a lick of quit in him. A great competitor with a suppressed Cranky Yankee alter ego.

Sometimes SSB reminds me of my golfing friend.

At other times, SSB reminds me more of Phil Helmuth. When the suppressed Cranky Yankee directs the frustration at others. But that too tends to be a pressure release valve.

I think most of us TTR members are kinda like Job's friends. We see the misery, but erroneously diagnose the root problem, that causes the Cranky Yankee alter ego.

I seriously used to worry about him blowing a gasket or having a heart attack with all of his rants. But it’s just entertainment now. The area where he lives plus the fact that he likes to stay out so long a mega is his only option.
So along with that comes mega issues.

Planning has lost their ever loving mind. 1st preplan, a sucky ice cream load that didn't load until Sunday, going NC for Tuesday. But, I figured the holiday had things screwed up, so I accepted it, and stopped short of Birmingham for the night. Did my post trip, logged off duty for a short while, then to sleeper and I clicked on the 'break' tab. Not 5 min after I did that, the ####ers pulled the NC preplan and put me on a load that picks up in Dallas, tomorrow...which I can't do because it's 6.5 drive hours to deliver this, and over 6 drive hours to pick up the next load...I swear, these planners would screw up a wet dream. How do they manage to 'plan' to come to work every day, or does their boss remind them like they have the computer remind us to do everything but breathe...it truely is becoming a branch of Big G here...minus the APU

I'm still relaxing in a hotel. Called them before they went home for the holiday and got me a loaner that's located in Joliet. However I think that freightliner is closed for the holiday as well and won't be open till Sunday.

Honestly, where I'm at now, I don't get it. But when I started trucking, I'd have understood you perfectly. Different strokes for different folks at different times in their lives.

If OTR is Your Jam, then I hope you finally find a company whose collective head is not inserted in a Very Uncomfortable Place.

I remind myself quite frequently of this golfing friend of yours, even though I want no parts of running those 18 bases.
