Never took vacation so don't know how the dates work. Perhaps it was put in then and now just paid? Made his weekly check high but 120k gross per year is really nice.

    Lonesome and tallguy66 Thank this.

Our vacation check shows our hire date. I just got my last week of vacation and it shows 04/13 on the paystub which is my hire date.

maybe he never went home? That’s a lot of miles at an average of 70 cpm.

not all OTR drivers are paid poorly. We have around 190 trucks and 230 drivers. 12 of us made 100k+ and 48 made 90k+, with very little micro management like @supersnackbar experiences. I personally did 117+4 in 401k match. Half of our otr solo drivers that have been here all year made 90+. That’s doing long haul open deck work. I think it would be a good fit for him but he said he will never work for another Daseke company again.

We struggle to find people that actually want to stay out long periods of time, are willing to work, and willing to hang chains vs being shut down for days.

I made $98K this year and my base rate is 56 cpm. $122,000 is very conceivable.

3 questions...1) which Daseke company, 2) do they have some kind of training (I've only done glass, but have a basic understanding of the 'how' to secure just no experience beyond glass...and 3) is florida in their hiring area...

I have no problem with Daseke per say, as long as the company is a good place to work...unlike We-lye

Ended up bobtailing all the way to the Nashville yard from W. Memphis to pick up a load to Edwardsville. Rain...rain and more rain until I got past Jackson, TN...then more rain coming out of Nashville.

And after I looked at the t-call message...they actually removed 20 miles, not added 20 on that McLane load. But, the lesser miles took it down into the 'short haul' range, so the difference isn't all that much...not enough to ##### about.
