You know you've been sitting a long time when you call the OSD department for an update, and you talk to the same person you spoke to the night before when the whole ordeal started. At first, they were talking about taking it to the JBS plant in Cactus, TX (north of Dumas, which is north of Amarillo), which JBS shot that idea down, now they're talking about taking it to Wilmer and setting it down there until JBS can either find someplace like a pet food manufacturer to take it or dispose of it somehow.
xlsdraw, Speed_Drums and mdmgolfin Thank this. -
Take it home and feed it to your pet alligator. Everyone in Florida has a pet alligator, right??

Well, I spoke to Deland about moving over to Hunt. If I want to, I have to go thru all the application, physical, road test like a total new hire. The only thing I get to keep is my profit sharing, health insurance and seniority.
The rejected freight has been sorted out, finally. It went from "we're trying to get an appointment at another JBS plant in TX" (Cactus, TX), then was told they won't take it and we're working on t'calling in Wilmer. I called Deland before they went home because, since I was still under the load, I needed a new fuel solution, and was below where the system would allow me to get one without help. After I got it, I talked to my Fleet Manager, and asked about Hunt, and then proceeded to lay out all the issues I have been having with the system, Op's, butthead and all the screwed up load crap I have been dealing with. While I was talking, they sent me a T-call assignment, then a minute later, a message that I was taking the load to Cactus...so now she has an example of what I've been going thru. She had to go, so I message Lincoln about which one they wanted me to do. I then get a call from butthead, he said he made the decision to t-call and that I was to ignore any insistence that I take the load to Cactus...and he put that on the Peoplenet as well. Amazingly, the fact that I was interested in moving to another Acklie company was made known to Lincoln because of all the b.s. I have been dealing with, and he suddenly is more cooperative. Later, I received a message about not being able to just swap to Hunt without jumping thru hoops from Deland.
Then, on the way to Wilmer, the appointments for pickup and delivery of my preplan changed. It now picks up Sunday and delivers Tuesday...and after all the problems I had to deal with on this load, along with all the crap I have had to deal with the last few months, I couldn't care any less if I had to.Last edited: Jan 7, 2022

The cold is no joke though with wind beating on you the entire time.
We get paid the same as Crete drivers. Over dimension loads are at like 0.70 per mile I think. Over dimension loads aren't required, but of course I'm going to do them.xlsdraw and Speed_Drums Thank this. -
