    OK here we go again...

Dropped my load, and what a surprise no empties. I take that back, there was one unsealed trailer but once I opened it I saw it still had a few pallets inside.

Overnight sends me over to Unilever off us51 just NE of Memphis and let me tell you ice rain/snow mixture + bobtail do not mix.

Made it to Unilever and when I saw over 10 shaffer trailers all lined up along the fence I felt happy. Until the guard informes me that all them trailers are loaded and the few they aren't are already assigned loads.

So I'm parked at the Walmart in town cause it's the usual trailer shortage thing going on...

We had 579's at Magnum with the MX-13. The only issue I had with the engine or emissions was the recall for a camshaft. Seems the cam manufacturer didn't properly heat treat the cams for a number of years and the lobes were flattening prematurely. And the engineers that designed the vehicle made it impossible to replace the cam without removing the engine, so I was in a 587 loaner for a couple weeks. The earlier years of the Paccar motors were extremely problematic, but my 2016 was far more reliable than any of these Junk-liners.

The biggest issue, like @Winnyf1 mentioned, was the Wingman nanny crash crap, especially the blindside lane change sensor that would pick up pretty much everything on the frontage roads when you tried to move over.

Speed_Drums, Winnyf1, Lonesome and 2 others Thank this.

Wingman definitely is the worst of the collision systems…i had 2015 & 2017 cascadias and the only thing those trucks were in the shop for were pm svcs..most reliable trucks i had driven in recent memory..like any vehicle it’s a luck of the draw because I don’t care what manufacturer name is on it..they all have the same chance at being garbage.

That's when I would call dispatch and ask them which one of these 10 loaded trailers do you want me to grab and run with.

they do have some nice runs out west from Covington.

@newbietrucker91 there is a customer pretty much attached to the cold storage where we have empties if you’re still around.

I tell you what. Delivering in Oakland this morning, and the customer is a transload delivery going on a reefer container bound for China. The neighborhood coming in looked more like a scene from Mad Max or a post apocalyptic movie set. The directions brought me in I-880 off of I-80. Under the tall overpasses it was not only homeless tent cities, but old RVs, burned out and overturned old car and trucks, dirt roads that led to area that were baracaded off like a homeless fortress with tarps and cable gates. It is truely a 3rd world in this area. Hard to help believe that you're still in America by looking at it. Although, the delivery customer's people were some of the nicest and polite folks I have ever dealt with.(for Californians that is)

right behind ya headed a bit south of San Jose with a similar load. Do you know if it’s a good idea coming through Santa Cruz or staying on the 101?

    Lonesome Thanks this.

Not really sure to be honest. Santa Cruz had some minor coastal flooding from the mini tsunami the other day, but wasn't anything worse than a high tide during a super-moon.

    Lonesome and tallguy66 Thank this.

Their stupid fuel routing wanted to send me backwards in sparks this morning. Now we’re getting in this sweet Sacramento fuel pushing 5 dollars a gallon
