It was on the weekend, at 4 a.m. And they even put the instructions on the Peoplenet, and they still dinged me. Told them next time, I will wait until Deland comes in, even if they have to reschedule the load. I simply don't trust anyone in the Op's department anymore.

If it's normal business hours, I call Deland. I've gotten to where I have no faith in anyone in corporate, from top to bottom.

It hurt my brain to read that level of idiotic micromanagement.

Actually, I have 'borrowed' reefer fuel to get me to the next assigned fuel stop. By that I mean, drop 20-25 gal of 'reefer fuel' at a network fuel stop in my truck tank, then put that same amount back in the reefer from my truck's next fill without accessing the reefer fuel button. That way nobody can say I am committing fuel tax fraud.

and people in Lincoln wonder why I get so grumpy for not being allowed to do my job without them looking over my shoulder all the time

Seconded. Dude, I work for a huge multinational corporation and have nowhere near the level of micromanagement SSB deals with.

Made it up here to Maine no problem.

Must not have no reefer freight cause next load is to pu from a paper facility near Boston, going 340 miles to a printing warehouse.

Of course live on both ends.

I have to agree. I've been following this Snackbar thread and the previous ones for years. I would love to have him as an employee because he uses his brain. He's detail oriented and knows alot about truck maintenance, repairs, and tricks of the trade. He is the exact opposite of a mindless steering wheel holder. He's interested in doing the job correctly, efficiently, and professionally. That helps any company in the long run.

Best of all he has a great sense of humor. His complaints don't seem hateful at all to me. Whenever I read his rants, I sense a wink and a twinkle in his eye. He's not taking himself too seriously and that kind of honesty is refreshing.

Snackbar is a straightforward shooter. Tells it like it is. Read his past threads and you know exactly what mega not to go to work for. And it is great entertainment for all. I’ll give him that!
