odds are it might stay fixed...since it was done at dealership...and not a company shop

Is operations gonna start dispatching out of other terminals now? Or is the dedicated or regional dispatched out of Marietta? The reason I ask, ny A/M sent out a message last week saying that he will be in Marietta all this week training new hires...so, unless they're paying a relocation bonus to bring in dispatchers from out of state, is seems as though Marietta is gonna have some Op's personnel in the terminal.

    They are working from home.
Marietta is probably a training area for Atlanta

To illistrate how this company's management over does the instruction of the simple parts of this job, stuff any driving school graduate knows...there are not one, but two videos posted this week on.....wait for it....how to release the 5th wheel... that's right, they're instructing us on how to do something that is one of the 1st thing every driver learns to do before they're allowed to drive on the road. But us stupid half retarded chimps at Acklie companies have to be told how to do it in multiple videos .. what's next week's video, the proper way to walk across the dry properly lit parking lot..."driver's, when walking across the parking lot, put one foot in front of the other. Remember, to alternate your left and right foot until you reach the building, then, if there are steps, remember to lift your foot high enough at each step to clear it before setting it down"

Must have been a reason for it. Someone didn't check to make sure it's locked, or there was actually someone who couldn't unlock one.....

A mirror fogger screwed up and dropped his trailer so the others have to endure another exciting video. Sounds like mega fun.

Ah, the old "double dispatch" routine today.

Assigned a dryvan load yesterday (I'm a reefer driver). Make my frozen drop in Tolleson AZ, told to head to PHX drop yard, drop rfr, grab dry and, head to Casa Grande for a load to Dallas. Its pre loaded and ready to go..

I make my drop, no empty reefer...(big surprise...NOT). Told to head to PHX drop yd, grab an empty dry van. Guess what! No empties of ANY type there.

Informed dispatch. They tell me goto Buckeye custome for one. I go there and got the last crete dry and there...and it's a MESS inside. Looked like a homeless encampment inside. Told the yard jock about it, he just shrugged and said sweep it out where it sits... so I clean it out. I LOVE my leaf blower...

I head to CG customer. It's a Saturday evening, nobody in shipping dept. I track down a yard jock, he checks the office and there's no paperwork to be found. He says just drop the van and check back in the morning. So I drop the van and bbt to the Petro for break.

Called the customer this morning, they look up the p/u # and the load was already gone as of 11am yesterday...4 hours before I was even planned on it.

"Ok, no problem, I need my empty back."
"Sorry, it's already being loaded with another load. "

So here I sit in Casa Grande, no dry van, no reefer, waiting on Sunday dispatch to figure out what to do with me.

Screwit! I'm going back to bed!

And, before anyone gets insulted about my usage of the word "retarded" in the above post...please watch this...it explains it fairly well

Come on you remember the program they had at Magnum to ensure we were “trained”. These ridiculous programs are often driven by a companies desire to reduce their insurance costs by keeping an active training and or coaching program in place.

My company had one for a hot minute which included a test at the end, they scrapped it (at least for now) due to complaints and the lack of resources to keep track of it.

As annoying as they are we know you are well versed in the delete key :)

To be fair they have at least 2 different ways of releasing them. Idk if you've watched them or even where you're seeing them.
Have you considered or looked at doing something dedicated? Not necessarily with crete/shaffer. This is the first of your threads I've seen so idk what you've done in the past. I know Florida isn't great but idk just a thought, might eliminate some stressors
