I say never trust a route made by someone only licensed to drive a desk. I wouldn’t trust them to route a single powered double Jack through a warehouse without me double checking.

Supposedly, the system won't recommend any non-truck route, so I thought I would see how screwed up the route was. I have gotten that same route before, but went to Joplin and down 49 then back east on 40. It adds a lot of miles, and with them starting to nit pick about OOR miles because of the fuel prices being high, I thought I would give it a try. After all, they treat us like trained monkeys, they can't fault me for acting like one.

And I still question the knowledge of the people sending out the helpful hints messages. Like this week's message. They always claim that you need to secure your trucks air lines on the holder to protect from moisture entering the lines. Which is total bull crap. You can secure them, seal side down on your deck just fine, and even if you do get some excess moisture, then you take advantage of gravity and hang the gladhands down and give them a shake before connecting to your next trailer. After all, hanging your lines on a mounted holder only protects maybe 10' of air lines from condensation...what about the 45-50' of each color air line on the trailer open to the atmosphere any time a truck isn't connected. Keeping my 10' of air line moisture free isn't gonna make that much of a difference, especially when I supply dried air from my truck when I release the brakes after connecting to the trailer.

Ignorant incompetent mother ####ers. This is the trailer they sent me to pick up and load going to UT(and they were sent pictures)

And it has the fairing and bumper in the back WITH the license plate still attached.(the towing company said the truck was towed to Tulsa for repairs...but I think I may have parked next to it at the KC yard). These people are total morons. If you work for this company, this is the type of disorganization you have to deal with. Now I lose a 1300 mile run to UT, and will burn up a day schlepping a damaged trailer to who knows where. And they wonder why I am so pissed all the time.

Oh...it got worse. Told my new A/M about the trailer. (Who will now be referred to BH 2.0 - as in butthead 2.0). He replied that they are looking into it. The a few minutes later sent me directions to the Walmart DC in Bentonville to pick up another empty so I can load my UT load. I asked what to do about the trailer, he said they'd figure it out. And not missing an opportunity to be a Richard, I replied - "doubtfull, they can't figure out how to pour whiz out of a bucket with the directions on the bottom"...which got a phone call from George, one of the Op's managers. He didn't like my "stupid" comment and claims that they only got pictures of the truck, not the trailer. Which I say is b.s. Maybe accidents didn't send pictures to Op's, but I can dang sure believe a professional towing business sent more pictures than needed of both truck and trailer. Needless to say, I don't think George and I will ever be besties...he got the gist that I simply don't have any positive praise for the Op's department as a whole. And I don't know if they monitor the newbie dispatchers or if BH 2.0 sent them the message but if I find out it was him, I have lost all trust and respect for him on day 2.

And he isn't up to speed with the most basic of dispatch abilities...I picked up an empty, sent the number, cleaned it out and headed for the shipper. He sent a response making it sound like it was assigned. Got to the shipper, and when I did my arrival call... Invalid Trailer Location. Which means, he didn't assign it to my truck. This is not gonna be a pleasant experience dealing with him I get the feeling.

I checked this morning. They're calling for 1-3" across most of WY. But as far as I am feeling about it now... couldn't care any less if it was Tue or Wed before I get there. I have 110% written off Crete or Shaffer as a long term employer...I honestly can't wait to get my refund money so I can tell them to shove this truck and this job where the sun don't shine.

Just looked at the forecast again. Right now, Cheyenne looks the worst for snow accumulation. 3-5" and possible winter travel problems. I may cross thru Colorado and up that way because the worst of the weather in Cheyenne is tonight thru tomorrow morning.

It would make your jobs a lot easier if the dispatchers you worked with were former drivers so they understood what you deal with on a day to day basis. Are there any dispatchers there that used to drive? Cause that seems like that would help a little at least
