But you have to see the reason they do it...I believe, they simply do not trust us to do the job they hired us to do without adult supervision. They think we're stupid and incapable of doing the job without constant guidance from the college educated management. That's why I refer to the drivers here as chimps. I know what some will say..."it's all part of the dumbing down of america. It starts in our public schools". Which may be the case, but isn't right. When the whole class has to be slowed down to the learning level of the slowest learner in the class, the whole class suffers. The faster learners lose interest in school and then don't do as well thru their whole education. It shouldn't be that way in private business. If the slow learners can't make it here, then they need to go work for someone else. This use to be a respectable company back when Mr. A was running the show. You had to have experience, they didn't hire just anyone. And you were a trusted member of the company, and treated with respect. Now, anyone who can steam up half a mirror, and hasn't commited any of the FMCSA's major CSA chargable violations in the last 3 years gets to work here. That's why we are less respected by our peers, and many consider us to be just another version of Swift or CRE. And it's also why we have to be told how to do every aspect of our job by the elites in Lincoln.

Wow that is retarded with all those messages... Do they get in your case if you take longer 10 hour breaks like over 12 hours ?? Or is just that dumb message ?
Also, any idea about the dry van side ? I heard about 95% is d&h ? That seems pretty laid back to me like you can run like you want to then ?

SSB, why dont you just buy your own truck and run your own business. You seem to know everything so Im sure you would be sucessful. If anything goes wrong, you would have a direct contact with the head honcho.
I read your thread but man Ive never seen anybody b***h so much. Are you on meds? If not, I think you need to see your dr. Stay safe for us other drivers. Hope you can find a way to release your anxieties. Maybe this is where you do.
    Regardless be safe.

    JohnBoy,

That would be wonderful to go to Publix except they only hire from within their company employees. No off the street hiring.

This post hits the nail on the head.

The company has changed greatly since when they required many years of experience and had wait lists for drivers coming on board.

IMO the current Crete Companies is just another overbearing company in the choice of carriers we have available.

SSB's work ethic and Crete's management style are incompatible and I think he knows that.

We have disagreed on things in the past when we both worked at Crete in the past however his posts are spot on and not sugar coated.

How others deal with Crete and the micromanaging are all different, SSB just isn't the 'YES' man they desire.

I hope he finds something that is the right fit for him soon.

I won't return to Crete as I know the issues they have and have experienced it myself, I also am not compatible and have moved on and will never return to them.

My best wishes to SSB on his search for the right company.

I've owned my own. I don't like working 24/7/365. When you aren't driving, you're doing business paperwork, when you're not doing paperwork, you're tinkering on the truck. Besides, with $5+ per gallon fuel, and truck part shortages (or new trucks running at record setting prices, if you can find one spec'd like you want), going O/O would be crazy right now. The reason I ##### so much is simply this...I got spoiled working for a company that treated me with respect, didn't bombard me with constant reminders of how to do my job, had reliable equipment and paid good. Unfortunately, the owner had a NASCAR addiction and spent more money than he should have part time sponsoring a team. (Since I don't watch NASCAR, I'm not sure which one, I think it was in the Busch series - or whatever it was called 3 or so years ago). Why a specialized glass hauling company needed to advertise on a NASCAR track nobody could figure out. So he sold us to a holdings company and retired. But before they sold out, in terms of how they treated the drivers, and how they ran the operations department, it was nice to feel legitimately respected instead of this lip service respect they publicly pay us here. THAT's why I ##### so much. I don't know it all, never claim to. But I have experienced the difference between a good company and a MEGA company with a huge revolving door that is big enough to accommodate all the new drivers coming in to replace the ones who are sick of the bs.

still doesn't change the reason they send them in the 1st place. It's bad enough that a majority of the general public has no respect for truck drivers, and think we're ignorant morons, but to have the company you work for have so little respect that they feel the need to reminded you how to do almost every part of your job with every load, and with every video...that's beyond acceptable, or tolerable.
