It’s the tight parking and the clientele that I don’t like. I always worry about my hood being taken off, and the loss of money that the down time would cost me.

Yeah, that's great money. I probably wrote too much in the post that you quoted from me, but my point was that on the payscale you're currently on, you're making more money with less hours than what W2 OTR dry van and reefer company drivers are making. Which is great, that means you're getting paid great money. $2651 gross, consistently, is no joke.

I loved going into Canada when I hauled glass. My average time at the CBSA booth going into Canada was less than 5 minutes. It was coming back into my own country I hated. The #### rent-a-cop wannabe border patrol agents the US has are on a power trip. They think their last name is Christ, and are a direct relative of Jesus himself. The last time I came back thru north of Champlain, it was all I could do to keep from grabbing the prick by the throat and pulling him out of his booth and stomping the attitude out of him...but knowing I wouldn't do well in federal prison kept me from doing it.

There use to be a couple motels with truck parking in that area. When I had a truck leased to Landstar, I hauled a load of big a/c units to that area that were being exported. I had a couple days to kill before I could unload, so I stayed at a motel instead of tempting fate at that truck stop.

I was talkin to a driver today at Loves in KC and we were just shooting the ####, he said he went to Lincoln for orientation on the Crete side. The last day they made them sign a paper about driver facing cams, he said he’s not signing it the recruiter told him nothing about it. They said all Crete/Shaffer and Hunt trucks will have driver facing cams by the end of the year. He said no thanks and left. Has anyone else heard this or is this dude talking out of his rear?

I think he must have misunderstood. The last I heard, after the 'we value your opinion' survey they did about cameras, they said forward facing only unless you're a badboy, then you get one. If they were just full of #### and just saying that, then putting driver facing in, they better hire some extra recruiters because there are a lot of drivers that'll be parking their trucks and moving on.

Even if it's forward facing cameras only...I'm still not happy about that...forward facing cameras pick up all sound...which would include any conversations..I'm having on phone...or with another person in truck,.look at all the forward facing camera videos on YouTube...they have sound from inside the truck

From what i was told it will only record 10sec before and after an incident…now whether or not that’s the case I don’t know..but i have my own which will stay in the truck always..

All cameras record continuously. The feed is truncated after a preset amount of time. There are many variables that can be managed according to how they want to access data.

What companies often refer to in a statement such as you mentioned is, the duration of time before and after a triggered event that is auto saved and stamped with relevant information for retrieval. What they don't tell you is that they can view that continuous feed as well, its just not saved other than in the continuous feed data. But make no mistake, they could review it if they want.
