Talked to the dealer again this morning (he said to check back yesterday, but I got busy taking the daycab back and Ubering back to the hotel). He said the shop had about an hour discussion among themselves about my truck before starting work. He said he is still baffled at why they didn't dig deeper into what was wrong with it before going to their corporate people. So, he was gonna have it brought in today and do more to diagnose what it's issue is, so a carrot of hope has been dangled before me, so I hope it doesn't lead me off the cliff.

What happens if you take the toll roads anyways? I’m a spoiled bulk driver so I don’t understand.

They threaten to do that, but in all my time both years ago and this recent time, I have used the toll road without being routed, and never had them back charge the toll.

Idk exactly where you're going and coming from, but looks like somewhere south on 77? So 30 is a better route, though why they don't have you take 33 ft Wayne to 77 idk. Better than those other back roads. He'll 65 to 70 to 35 out of Dayton is probably not much further

Without giving exact destinations, route starts in North Central Colorado. 1st stop in NE Ohio then final dlv down in North Carolina. If it were direct from CO to NC, would be a totally different routing.

Ah, yeah that 1st stop changes things. Though assuming it's actually on that route, it is the most direct. Idk if the toll rd is worth it, but until they explicitly say something to the contrary I'm assuming it's a valid route to use. Iirc the ones they really didn't want us using unless on the Rte solution were 76 between Ohio state line and new Stanton interchange, and Harrisburg and Philly. Njtp near Philly, and 90 across New York. Though I've used those when not routed and never heard anything so idk

You would think that given the high price of fuel, they would route the most fuel efficient route instead of the lowest toll cost route
