For a company that can’t leave well enough alone. I now drive a 2022 KW automated, 456 hp with Peoplenet and don’t have any of the problems he does. Crete runs a custom instance of Peoplenet (they aren’t great with modifications which is why we run vanilla) and we don’t lock our drivers out of truck functions.

Makes a difference, sometimes I feel for you Puffin’s…

My company uses Samsara on a company issued iPhone for logs, dispatch is done over the phone or by text or email.

Got a Shaffer in California with that Tom Tom update on peoplenet he's saying peoplenet is warning him when he's driving over 55 it spells out you're exceeding to speed limit please slow down... he's wondering if this is automatically going to safety.. haven't been out west in a while, anyone else experiencing this warning system? Wonder if it will activate in Indiana as well ?

I used to do a ton of loads in and out of CA. I’ve only ever once recall seeing a sleeper truck on the interstates outside of urban areas doing 55. Occasionally a day cab milking the clock, sure.

No rational safety department would expect a guy to be doing 55. Personally, I’d laugh at them if approached with that, followed by handing in the keys.

My Bro-in-law works for Walmart. He used to be out of California. He would get phone calls if he went over 58 mph too many times.
    He moved to Utah now…

Been getting that. Not hard at 55, it starts yelling at you when you go 10 over whatever it thinks the speed limit is. Gotten yelled at when passing a scale it reads the limit as 10mph and says something. Only thing that might get you talked to is going 75+, triggers a onboard event recording on the peoplenet. Same if you brake to hard or go to fast around a corner. Gotten multiple of those though through the years, never heard squat.

Tell 'em to adjust the settings in the system. Years ago I used Co-Pilot and there is a setting so it doesn't nag about speed limits, or at least there use to be.

Successful day. Left the Sparks Petro, delivered in Oakland, fueled at the 49'er, drop and hook at the shipper in Sacramento, and made it back to the Sparks Petro for the night. Tuh-duh.
