Another one of those 'why do I do this' days. Got to the receiver an hour early and they had me unloaded by my appointment time...then it all went down hill. Next load is out of some piddly egg farm in Po-dunk, IN. Went north on I-65, and just as I passed the exit to the Louisville bypass, I hear on the CB that northbound was closed due to a multiple semi wreck that also had a pickup involved, and one of the semi's was hauling chemicals. Finally fought my way to an exit and got turned around and down to the bypass. Got to the exit 16 Love's in Indiana, and went to clean out my trailer. Idexx insisted that the trailer was clean before loading me yesterday, and it was nasty, so I had it washed out. When I got unloaded and went to blow out the pallet scraps, I discovered that there were so many dirty tire tracks in there that there is no way the egg people would load me. Went north of Seymour to Columbus, IN to an old independent truck wash...or where the building of an old truck wash use to be, who's back lot where you use to back in to have a washout, it is now a dumping ground for old tree stumps and tree debris. So I had to go all the way up to Whiteland to wash out. Then I wasn't gonna make my pick up appointment. Then, to hunt the shipper, who is on back roads so narrow your one set of tandems are on the yellow lines and your other is on the white line. And the directions to the place have landmarks that don't exist any more. I drove right on by one turn because it said 'at the blinking yellow light, turn right'...only there wasn't a blinking yellow light, and no road sign and a turn onto a road so small it looks like someone's driveway. 10 miles of roads and curves not designed for 52' x 102" trailers, I found a closed road I could do a 3 point turn around. Came back thru the same area, and I went right by the road again because I swear, it looks like a driveway. Just as I pass the road, I get a message that the appointment has been changed to morning, so I went to the TA and said f-itall ta helenback. Told Op's that we shouldn't be doing business with places like this and that I can't believe we are so desperate for freight that we stoop to going out into Podunk areas for this type of loads, and any time in the future that I see this customers name on a preplan, it will be rejected...I don't care if it pays me $1/mi cross country. I cannot wait to hand them the keys and flip Tonn, and all his Veeps the double barreled bird.

Probably what happened when they gave me those 2 preplans. Morning took the small one off then later in the day put the other one back on me.

Would of been less foul msgs firing off if that was just done from the get go but they probably just wanted their load board to show empty and maybe get lucky in me just doing it.

I use Google Maps, but sometimes things look different on the satellite view..and this is so far out, that street view doesn't always look the same. The right turn I had to take had to be made from the other side of the road, and then I had to use part of a small mom-pop grocery store's parking lot to get a 53 around the corner. Then the actual goat path the facility was located was so narrow that if 2 trucks had to pass going opposite directions, the one coming out had to use a narrow strip of grass between the road and the ditch because the side for the inbound truck had electric poles right next to the edge of the road that would take out a mirror.

My SSB moment from yesterday was having to get a shipment with “collect” billing fixed that was going to a place I knew wasn’t going to pay it. I was parked around the corner from the place and was on hold with the corporate idiot so long I dozed off. An hour into that phone call the aforementioned idiot finally returns and say “uhhh... I’m sorry. I forgot about you and talked to 8 other people since. I’m so scatterbrained”.

Gee, you think???

And that’s just what I needed to hear from some tard who gets to punch out and go home after 8 hours while I had 17 other deliveries to do plus 4 pickups I got while I was sitting there.

dont blame ya. one of our night mgrs caught him lying. he said it was a misrepresentation. said same thing as a lie. he got mad. fine christians right there. lmao! seems like its always spun to be the drivers fault.
