They still having a hard time keeping tanker drivers out of the Houston Terminal. Going on a year straight of 12k hire on bonus, and even guaranteed 1k/week gross pay for the first 4 months still not enough to hold people.

Could also be that a lot of the drivers who do apply just don't make it through training for one reason or another.

1K a week is not enough to entice me even if it was for the whole year.

Most companies don't operate this way. You know that. Creaffer is a special kind of unreasonable. Bordering on Sadistic.

You can do much better. Creaffer's pay is not worth the psychological warfare you must endure.

I cringe everytime a post is made about them stopping pay if you don't do unreasonable this or unreasonable that. It's ridiculous.

I have never seen anything like this. I would have left a long time ago.

I’m so happy I didn’t make the change last November when I put my app in and the recruiter told me that where I live in South Florida, I would need to be out 4-6 weeks at a time. 70cpm is not worth it. I’m just happy, even with my brain damage where I’m at, that I am able to work for insurance rather than money. It ain’t perfect, but it sure isn’t what Shaffer offers.

Current quarter had 2 just under 8k months and one 11,791, only took 6 days off (6 or 8 weeks on 6 to 7 off) is this the new norm, it's the lack of consistent miles and like ssb stated all the extra freebies we do... otr is a sacrifice, if you're a runner and communicate they should run you efficiently I thought it would be a win win for all since more freight is being moved... maybe the good miles go to the newbies so they can brag and try to recruit others idk id worry about the proven drivers that companies should be taking care of...

I agree with taking care of the good drivers. In my 20 months here I have had 0 driver caused freight claims or accidents. One of the loads that made it unscathed was a load out of the Nebraska JBS plant that the last pallet on the back was a single, not load locked and the top 2 layers weren't properly shrink wrapped, and that last pallet was exactly where the shipper placed it when we opened the doors in Oakland (this load was preloaded and sealed before the previous driver picked it up). How much money do they save putting cheaper butts in the seat that then cause freight damage by their driving habits. Same when I was at WyMoore. 3 years hauling glass and 0 driver caused freight claims.

I stay out like you do and the truck i have i pu in early December with 122k mi on it and today it’s just over 180k mi on it..in 7mos…i know the trip numbers rolled over at beginning of the year literally and they’re at 500k plus now..they’re booking loads, wonder if its a combination of just booking short & medium runs and just not load planning right..whatever it has been has been doing exasperated exponentially since june 01..

One thing I noticed is Crete and Shaffer share the trip number system. Maybe Crete is using more of the number pool than we are.

I’d go to Qualify Carriers first. They’re the biggest and OTR and dedicated drivers be bringing in like 2400/week on the right accounts. They are a mega though.
