Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

Stopped in Ogden UT yesterday to fuel. Checked wydot, things looked OK. Went in to use bathroom, Checked wydot again, i80 closed lol. Spent the night there. 80 still closed. Running around slc now doing trailer moves until 80 opens up.

 

Dropped a load of pineapple from Galveston at our Wilmer terminal today. It's bound for Cheyenne for a Saturday delivery so either a drivers skipping the holiday or this will be someone's load home.

Whole area under a deep freeze so glad I'm in Texas. Would also be home but dispatch wants me to wait a day incase they can pull another short haul run for me, before the holidays. Been running loads from Dallas to Houston and back last 2 days just waiting for hometime.

Speak of the devil...just got a preplan...I'm bound for Galveston port this time to live load some pineapples and drop them at our terminal. Then head home. That load is also bound for Cheyenne.

Pains me that the day before I go home I have to swap to a day shift. Pu at 10am and has to tcall by 5pm.

Around 280 miles each way plus having to deal with Houston holiday traffic both ways will make this real tight.

Finally get to use my twic since this port requires it.

 

Easy enough making it through Houston during the morning. Currently sitting looking at all the crazy people boarding the 3 cruise ships at the port in 18F weather.

I know there 3 are Chrismas cruises but it too darn cold to be out on the deck!

With the new Royal Caribbean terminal, I see Disney has moved into town.

 

Many years ago I was in Rogers City MI and went into the trailer to warm up....it was set at -5 too......

 

New York here I come. Got stuck with a late Walmart load bound for Northern NY state. It's a drop but since it will be 2 days late when I get it there by the 1st, might become a live, who knows.

 

Hopefully its not in the Buffalo area.
