Update - No longer with Shaffer.

Currently giving Marten Transport a try since I hear so much good about them.

My guarantee pay for the account I'm on is $1350 so will see how easy it is to a truly get the guarantee. First guarantee pay company so hoping for good things.

Best of luck! You can look forward to endless calls, texts and emails asking you to come back to Acklie...

No, SW Regional. Around 5 different dedicated accounts in the Texas area with one paying $1500 guarantee but each account has different pay scales like some don't pay deadhead miles or some don't pay detention so decided to just go for regional to test the waters.

So far orientation was real good. Only 3 of us in the whole class.

Just got done with orientation and will see if I'll get a freightliner, kenworth, or peterbuilt tomorrow.

Do they take preference in mind or is it strictly luck of the draw for the truck?

Luck, and what's available. If your disatisfied, I'm told to just contact your fleet manager and put in a request. If they can't change it then or in the near future they can put you down to get one when the time comes to switch.

Also all trucks have apu's, front(not driver) facing camera, all that collision avoidance stuff, and deer guards.

Use omitracs so have to unlearn what I know from peoplenet.

I've used both Omitracs and Peoplenet. Omittracs is better in my opinion, especially for split sleeper birth. Good luck with the new gig.

    newbietrucker91 Thanks this.

Hoping everything goes well. Everyone seems to be happy here at the terminal. Talked to one driver who runs local and made 90k last year. Wouldn't of believed it till he showed me his pay on the app and he's paid around $32/hour and home everyday.

Just one of the rare local positions that open up I'm told.

When I hit 1 month I'll do an update but it will be in the now dead Marten forum.

Crossing my fingers everything goes smoothly once I learn their way of doing things.
